“Owen it to Him” is another beautiful love story written by Sheila Fowler. This is the second book in the “Scottish Love Stories” book series.
It is a beautiful romantic story. The main character of the story is Owen Aitken. Owen was deeply saddened by the loss of his brother and best friend Cameron. Now, Cameron’s wife Virginia and her two kids are the only family that Owen has.
Owen lost Cameron to cancer. Owen and Cameron lost their father to cancer when they were young. Their mother couldn’t handle it and both the brothers spent time on the streets. Owen wants to fulfill his brother’s last wish so he traveled to Florida to search for his mother. There, he met Virginia’s cousin Sam.
Will they fall in love? Will Owen return to Scotland? If you are looking for an escape from reality into the world of romance then pick this book. Sheila’s books are nice for light reading. The storyline is interesting and the story will stay in my mind for a long time. Owen’s character is my favorite.
“Two Hands to Hold” is the second book in the Saddle Key Mysteries book series. The main character of the story is Blake Malone. He is the Assistant State’s Attorney. Solving murder cases is his job. His sister Allie is the Chief of Police and she helps him in solving the murder cases.
At the beach, Allie saw that one of the hands has Blake’s ring, a ring that he lost in high school. Blake is determined to know whose hands are these. Arianna suspects that the hands are of two different bodies so now they have to find two dead bodies. Soon, Blake found an apartment and found that Arianna is his neighbor.
Will the two of them fall in love? If you love reading a combination of murder mystery and romance stories then go ahead with this book. The plot of the story is amazing. Sheila creates characters that become your favorite instantly. Romance being my favorite genre made me get my hands on this book. I loved everything about it.

“Livvy and the Enchanted Woodland” is a fantasy fiction penned by the author Connie Lacy. The main character of the story is Livvy Sloan. She lost her grandma one fall. Livvy’s father took out a loan for seed, fertilizer, pesticide, etc. Livvy’s family had one general store but the earnings weren’t enough from it. Now, the bank is after her father to repay the loan.
A man named Coy Whitaker offered a no-interest loan to Livvy. He wants to marry her, help Livvy and her family in times of need. Read this story to know will Livvy accept any help from him?
This book is a perfect blend of romance, mystery, history, magic, etc. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. I appreciate the vivid imagination of the author in world building. If you are looking for an escape from reality then go ahead and pick a copy of this book. A magical, fantasy world is waiting for you.

After the pandemic, going out has become painful, restrictive and difficult. Since lockdown, we have become habitual to enjoy the comfort of our sofa and we have all the options to entertain ourselves without leaving our home.
These days it has become very easy to do online shopping and get things delivered at our doorstep within 24 hrs. The author has mentioned how taking a dog for a walk could be one way of going out. We could go for a walk in our comfortable pyjamas or onesie. Elthea has also given ideas of staycation, caravan, etc.
This is short but worth reading guidebook. This book uses simple language so more and more people could benefit from it. The author has done fantastic work in this book. I appreciate her insights. I am looking forward to reading more books by the author.
2032 penned by the author Dan Padbury is a dystopian, Post-Apocalyptic survival novel. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the population of Africa is fighting against itself.
The main character of the story is Thandiwe. She is the leader of the group named The Bangaphandle. Thandiwe along with her other colleagues did a cyberattack. The group used their hacking skills and as a result, AfroSouth African Bank lost all the money in its vault. Thandiwe took all the money and then retransferred it to the bank.
Detective Dakarai is determined to figure out who is behind this cyberattack. The plot of the story is interesting.
The author has done great work in his debut novel. I am highly impressed with the fast-paced story. I wasn’t bored anytime while reading this book. Go for it without any second thoughts.
Behind Smiling Eyes penned by the author Chani Louise is an interesting read. There are many short stories in this book.
The first story “Love” is about a couple. The narrator craved for the man who already had a girlfriend. But for one night, they were together and that night is the most memorable one at least for the narrator.
My Girls is a story about cheating in marriage and falling for someone else. Read this story with a twist.
The content of the book is sensitive sometimes but I was comfortable to read it. The author has managed to create great storylines within just a few words. I enjoyed reading this collection. It’s a good book for light reading. Go ahead with this. The writing style of the author is nice and the pace of the stories are fast.
Q1. Hello, can you please introduce yourself? Readers would love to know more about you.
My name is Viv Cockram but I write under my maiden name of Viv Booth. I live on the North Norfolk Coast with my husband, two opinionated West Highland Whites and a deaf cat. We have five children and twelve grandchildren. I have had a varied career as a Shop Assistant, Buyer, Business Analyst and College Lecturer. My love of writing started as a child and has continued throughout my life but I only released Paying with Fish in February this year. Since then I have written my second book which is with my publisher and I am currently awaiting the final proofs.
Q2. What were the key challenges you faced while writing ‘Paying With Fish’ book?
The main challenge I faced was maintaining focus, life tends to get in the way and changes your direction constantly. Running concurrently to the focus challenge is belief. Belief in myself, that I can actually achieve what I started, that it is good enough and that other people will want to read it.
Q3. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?
I love books that are slightly ridiculous in the way that they use language so I absolutely love all Georgette Heyer novels, plus she always portrays strong women. My favourite book of all time which I would love to emulate but have absolutely no chance of achieving is ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’ by Harper Lee.
Q4. What’s your favourite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?
As I live on the North Norfolk Coast my favourite place to visit is the sea, it is definitely my happy place and things always seem to shift into focus and right themselves when I am there.
Q5. Is there lots to do before you drive in and start writing a book?
Indeed as I write memoirs I firstly have to get to a point where I find the key to unlock the filing cabinet in my mind , once this is achieved memories come tumbling out in no order whatsoever. I do not start at the beginning of the book and write to the end, I write what ever pops up first. I then start to place the pieces of the book into a sensible order.
Q6. How long did it take you to write ‘Paying With Fish’ book?
Longer than I expected. I started in 2014 but then I lost focus and life events took over as they often tend to do. I completed the book during in lockdown in the COVID pandemic.

Q8. Tell us about the process of coming up with the book cover and the title ‘Paying with Fish’?
The book cover for me was easy, it is a combination of real images of two of my favourite places in France, the beach and the secret garden of the house we lived in. The title of the book is what I said when paying at the vets, I was over confident with the use of my new language. Instead of saying I was paying with cash I confused the word ‘cash’ with the verb for ‘to fish’ and so the title of the book was born.
Q9. When writing a book how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?
I try very hard to write in the way that I speak. I am originally from the north of England and therefore have a specific way of speaking which I try to transfer into my writing. I am a great believer in focusing on the positive and have a very direct and descriptive style which hopefully engages the reader.
Q10. Are there any secrets from the book (that aren’t in the blurb), you can share with your readers?
As I write memoirs and therefore about real people and events, albeit from my perception and view of the world I change the names of the characters involved. However, if you know, then you will know.

He lives with his brother Thomas, his dad and his dad’s girlfriend Deborah. Gale lost his mother a couple of years ago. He spends time and shares things with his friend Preston.

When Brody, a gargantuan boy in the same grade as Gale and Preston tried to attack them with a knife, Preston didn’t take Gale’s dream seriously. Are Gale’s dreams trying to tell him something? What will happen when they discover and enter a secret passageway in the library?
Read this story to know what will happen. This story is gripping. It kept me on the edge of my seat. The language used in the book is lucid and I enjoyed the story. Henry has done great work in this book. The pace of the story is fast and I wasn’t bored anytime while reading it. Go for it without any second thoughts.
Recently I have been socializing a lot. Therefore, I was reading blogs and books on manners. Luckily, I got my hands on the book “Lifestyle Manners to Drive Success”. You may be very intelligent and good at what you do but if you don’t have the right manners, then it could prevent you from being successful.
This book is an easy-to-read guide. Whether we are at a business meeting, business party, social event, family gathering, our manners are noticed everywhere. I like the author’s advice to make the effort to be warm and amenable. In the digital platforms chapter, the author has mentioned some off-putting gestures like coughing, yawning, scratching anywhere, etc. It’s very important for us to be aware of good manners.
I loved the section about the responsibilities of the visitor and the host. This is a well written book. I am glad to get my hands on it. This is an insightful and engaging read. I appreciate the knowledge that the author has shared in this book. I like to recommend this book to everyone. It’s a must read. Go for it.
The Tenrux Society penned by the author Kyile Jacquin Carter is a unique read.
This book introduces readers to the sci-fi story of the tenrux society from the past, present and the future tenses. Many times, we doubt ourselves and our choices but through this book, the author inspires the readers to not live in the doubt of their choices.
In life, we come across situations when we don’t know what decisions to make. We keep on wondering what direction to go in. Readers would get an understanding of self-belief within an anarchy.
This book is not for beginners. Before reading this book, I didn’t have a bit of an idea about the tenrux society. The language used in the book is lucid but the narration could have been smoother. Focus on the self-light, self-awareness as that is important.
