Crown Prince Kharel told Jerrol Haven that he is under arrest for treason. Prince told him that for plotting against the Crown and Administration, Jerrol is going to be executed.

Jerrol escaped from the cell and from the Old Vespers to be alive. He made it to Greenswatch and he woke up outside a cave. He saw Lady Leyandrii, the deity worshipped by at least three of the four kingdoms of Remargaren. Lady told him that the Ascendants grow bold and they are back to finish the deed. Book: Classroom Confidential

Author: Victoria Lucido

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

Classroom Confidential is a book written by the author Victoria Lucido. It is based on how she survived 33 years in a public school and others can too. This book covers Victoria’s teaching journey that started in 1985. As a new teacher, she needed some help. When she went to the head teacher for help, she didn’t receive it. This incident made Victoria helpful towards other teachers because she knew how it feels when you are new and you are not receiving any help.

I liked the way author learnt to relax and cope up with things in panic situations. Survival secrets shared in this book gonna be helpful for new teachers. Even though I am not an educator but I liked this book as it gave me some nice tips like while traveling we should dress according to the country we are visiting, while teaching our outfit should give the message that we are in the campus for teaching but also approachable. In this way, students could connect more to teachers.

Tips for fitting in the staff lounge are much needed by new teachers because they don’t know how they will be welcomed by other teachers. Tips for creating community will help a teacher to have good connection in the world outside of school. The boundary suggestions mentioned in the book has great value and I like to thanks the author for sharing that. This book is written in a simple language but it is written as a result of author’s rich experience and will prove to be helpful for new teachers. Her analysis of different situations and the way she has handled them over years has helped her to write this book. Cover photo of the book is lovely and it gave me the vibes of green board of the classroom. Title of the book couldn’t have been better than this.

Overall, I strongly recommend this book to everyone especially to the new teachers.

The Extraordinary Gifts: My Life with a Chronic Illness by author Taunya Wideman-Johnston

Author: Taunya Wideman-Johnston

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

The Extraordinary Gifts: My Life with a Chronic Illness is the first book of the author Taunya Wideman Johnston. This book is about author’s life experience with a Chronic gastrointestinal illness and the extraordinary gifts that she has received from living with a chronic illness. Taunya started suffering from chronic illness in her second year of university. Imagining about the numerous tests and diagnosis that she must have went through is scary. All she wanted was to know what is wrong with her body and one day a doctor at Toronto Hospital explained her what is wrong with her body. Unfortunately, he told that this chronic illness is rare and would be with her for lifetime.

After suffering physically, mentally and spiritually, Taunya decided that she will find the alternative to live. When she went for the surgery to remove abscess, she was quite hopeful that now everything will be back to normal but even after surgery the pain in her lower back didn’t stopped. I love the relationship that she shared with her sister Janine. When we get unhealthy, that is the time we start respecting life and how happy we would be if we can return to the time when we were healthy. Taunya became stronger, kinder, more compassionate and appreciative of life as a result of her illness.

This book made me realize that we often take life for granted and don’t feel gratitude for the good things in life like being healthy. Even if we are having some illness, we should be strong and find an alternative to live life with a positive attitude. Reading this book was a smooth experience for me. Language of the book is easy. Cover photo of the book is simple and it could have been more creative. Writing style of Taunya is impressive. I was so hooked while reading about her journey that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Definition of Terms given at the end of the book was helpful. This book is totally worth and it has much in store for the readers.
