Book Review: Hagwitch and the Cauldron of Colour

Book: Hagwitch and the Cauldron of Colour

Author: Joanne Hutchinson

Illustrator: Kris Lillyman

Format: Ebook

My Rating: 4.5/5

It’s great to read a book that makes you a lot more happy and keep you engaged throughout the wonderful journey. A book ‘Hagwitch and the Cauldron of Colour‘ by author ‘Joanne Hutchinson‘ is an interesting read.

A dragon came suddenly in town who picked up a lot of people to eat, everyone got panic, shivered and asked Hatrix for a help but he never listened to anyone as he has some other bad plans.

A witch named Hagwitch, with a one eye black and the other pond green looks little bit scary. But in real she is soft hearted and determined enough to rescue the townspeople all alone and won hearts of everyone with her kind nature.

Hagwitch defeated the selfish wizard Hatrix. I must say author have done commendable job in writing it down so beautifully. Perfect book for children.

Book Review: Anatomy Of A Self Indulgent Moongazer

Book: Anatomy of a Self Indulgent Moongazer

Author: Prateek Joshi

Format: Ebook

Pages: 74

My Rating: 4/5

Do you love reading English poetry? If yes, then this book is for you. These poems are not based on just one topic. Infact, they are based on multiple topics like love, silence, moon, night, dreams, dawn, etc. The poems are soothing and touches the heart.

The desolation
Of dream
tricks and taunts
throughout the sleep
the phantasms quit
when dawn arrives….

Above are the lines from this poetry book that has touched me most. Being a dreamer and a night over thinker, I could relate well to it. You can enjoy reading this book with a cup of tea in the evening.

The book is written well overall but the book presentation from inside and the way poems are organized could have been better. Cover is nice.

Book Review: Elephant by Natalie Rodriguez

Title: Elephant

Author: Natalie Rodriguez

Genre: YA Fiction

Format: Ebook

My Rating: 4.3/5

Elephant is a Young Adult Fiction written by the author Natalie Rodriguez. The story is about a woman Lucia Smith and her grandson Matthew Jimmy Smith. Matthew was also known as Matt or Matty. Matty was suffering from trauma which resulted in PTSD. There was so much void in his life and mind that needs to be filled by someone.

As I read the story further, I saw the impact of some tragic life incidents on Matty’s life as he ended up being admitted to a hospital.

The ending paragraph of the first book will make you shiver and will make you think how this could happen. Reading this book was a rollercoaster ride for me.

I really appreciate the storyline. If a movie could be made on this story, it would be even more amazing for the children. I would like to recommend this book to children, teenagers and adult who have went through so much in their life and is not yet healed from their pain. I am looking forward for the next book from the author.

#ShareTheLoad among your family members

Since my childhood, I have seen my Mom working endlessly whether it’s official work or household work. During the lockdown, many people were free as they didn’t got their official system access, lost their jobs or the shops were closed. But women/Moms, they never got a holiday for even a single day. From cooking, cleaning the house, feeding kids, washing clothes to doing dishes, etc everything is dependent on mother. I saw my mom was too much busy day and night in household work. She is always the first one to wake up in the house and the last one to go to bed.

During lockdown since I was at home all the time, I noticed Mom working like a robot. Even though she feel tired sometimes, but she never say anything to me or Dad. I felt I should give a hand to Mom in household work. I saw her washing clothes one day. I observed the entire clothes washing process carefully. Next day, I told mom that I will wash clothes now onwards. I took the pile of dirty clothes for washing. I filled water in washing machine, added Ariel Matic Liquid Detergent to it and then put dirty clothes in it. In the evening when the clothes got dry and my Mom saw so clean clothes, she was surprised to see how much I have grown and how well I have done this task.

Slowly and slowly, I started taking up more work from Mom like cleaning the house, mopping, doing dishes, etc. Mom adored me a lot for sharing the load with her. From that day, I am washing clothes everyday. It makes me happy from inside as finally I am doing something for my Mom. Thanks to Lockdown as it made me realized how much women work day and night without complaining. During this lockdown, I have swear to myself that from now onwards in life, I will always help my Mom in the household chores.

I really want to thank Ariel India for this wonderful initiative and for making me realize that household work is not just the responsibility of females. By dividing work, we can build healthy relationship and can make our bonds stronger. More and more people should come ahead and be a part of this #ShareThe Load movement.

I will #ShareTheLoad and help in household chores in association with Ariel India and BlogAdda. #ShareTheLaundry #ShareChoresMultiplyLove
