Author: Clarence N.M. Coggins

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4.5/5

Auntie, I Don’t Want You To Get Married: Danielle The Girl From New York is a Children’s Book written by the author Clarence Coggins. This is the story of a nine years old naive girl Danielle who travelled from New York to Guyana to stay with her aunt Julia for two weeks. When Julia and her niece Danielle were doing the dishes, Danielle asked her aunt not to marry the Uncle.

This made Julia worried thinking what is wrong with the uncle and why Danielle didn’t want her to marry her Uncle. When Danielle finally told the reason, it made me laugh. Being a kid Danielle was right on her side and her reason was totally justified . Even when I was a kid, I used to have similar thinking.

The story is written and Illustrated well. It was a fun read that children will enjoy. Danielle’s bonding and love for her aunt is amazing. Narration of the story is smooth and language is easy so kids will be able to understand it. Overall, it’s a nice book that I recommend to kids.

The Franklin Boys’ Story: Blue and White by Dave Mayer

Book: The Franklin Boys’ Story: Blue and White

Author: Dave Mayer

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4.5/5

Blue and White is about the journey of two boys who lives in Aurora with their family. One day his dad came back from work and gave the bad news to the boys that the bank had relocated him to other branch and they have to move to a small town of Franklin in Southern Illinois.

Both the brothers Julio (an elder one) and Jeremy ( a younger one) became sad as they won’t be having any friends at new school to play their favourite game baseball. On moving to Franklin, their initial experience wasn’t good as people were calling them Coons. But Julio decided to ignore all the comments and asked his brother to do the same in school.

Cover page of the book is simple yet decent. The first book in the series is interesting and I have high hopes from the sequel of this now. I would recommend this book to teenagers as story is about many issues that they face.

Julio meeting Alexa and admiring her beauty made the story gripping. Alexa also didn’t belong to Franklin. She moved with her family from California when his dad got promotion. Since author himself has been a baseball coach, so story involves the brother’s love for Baseball.

Honeycake: A Circle Of Trust by Medea Kalantar

Book: Honeycake: A Circle Of Trust

Author: Medea Kalantar

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

Honeycake A Circle of Trust is the Book 4 of the Honeycake series written by the author Medea Kalantar. It is very important for parents to communicate with their kids and create a circle of trust so kids can communicate freely with them.

The story starts with Nala making drawings when her colored pencil tip broke off. Nala went to her Dad’s office to get a pencil sharpener from there but accidentally she broke her Daddy’s mug. Nala was scared to tell anyone. Her parents used building blocks to teach her about trust and honesty.

This book gives a very strong message that trust takes a long time to build but it can be destroyed in just few seconds. I really appreciate author for writing this book series and teaching kids wonderful and important lessons of life through interesting stories. A must read book by kids.

Office Pool II: Extraction by DL Blackburne

Book: Office Pool II: Extraction

Author: DL Blackburne

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4.5/5

Office Pool II: Extraction is the second book in the Office Pool Series. The story continue from where the first part “Office Pool: Orientation” ended. The mission of Arthur and his friends is to search and rescue their mentor Stan Sharply. The interesting thing to wonder is what must have happened to Stanley? Why he is missing? Is he kidnapped by someone?

It was a short and quick read for me. It is not everyone’s cup of tea as the story is written in a witty language instead of writing in a simple language. Narration of the story is smooth and cover page is interesting. I recommend this Office Pool Series to Students.

Rating: 4.5/5

Pretty Melanin Me is a Children’s Book written by the author Markita Richards and illustrated by Blueberry Illustrations. The protagonist of the story is a little girl Jade. Once Jade asked her mom why her skin is darker as compared to some other people.

The way Jade’s mom told her the reason and the blessings that Jade has with her skin color made her happy and confident. This book gives a strong message that the color of our skin doesn’t define us. Our actions, inner beauty and our hard work is what defines us.

It was a short and quick read. Illustrations are beautiful and eye catchy and the story is written well. This book teaches little kids the importance of self love and self acceptance. It is a wonderful book that kids should have in their bookshelf.
