Followives is a novel for me, for you and for everyone especially if you are a techie. Engineers mostly have a moving job. For better career and job they oftenly have to accept opportunities in different cities or countries.

Followives is about the journey of five women who had moved to United States because of their husbands. Their husbands got good career opportunities in US which obviously they can’t deny. So, their women also decided to go to US with them. They have to leave their home in Italy behind. Their partners have different profession and ambitions.

Lonely and jobless in US, lives of these women intersected. The plot of the story is fast pace and gripping. Characters are well developed and there is no confusion between different characters. It is sad that women have to leave everything behind so they can stay with their partners. It must be much difficult for them but they always makes compromises for their loved ones. This is the first book of the author and I am definitely interested in reading the next book by her.

I Matter by Wykita Riley

Book: I Matter

Author: Wykita Riley

Illustrated By: Waleed Ahmad

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

I Matter is a Children’s Book written by the author Wykita Riley and illustrated by Waleed Ahmad. This book is based on the statement “Black Lives Matter”.

When children see people holding signs of “Black Lives Matter” and “I can’t breathe”, they asked questions from their parents based on it. Kids father explained to little kids that Black lives matter means people should not be made inferior based on skin color and they should get equal opportunities as other people get.

The book is dedicated to those who lost their lives because of police brutality. The story is very short and one can quickly read it. Illustrations are simple and help to explain the story well.

Interview with author Cameryne Kayne

1. What was the hardest scene to write in Becklan’s Doll?

The hardest scene for me was Audrina’s past. I wasn’t prepared for such an emotional glimpse into her sorrow.

2. Do you have a favorite character that you’ve written? If so, who? And what makes them so special?

Yes, Myles has a special place in my heart. He’s so witty and sassy, yet still holds the ability to lighten the mood in only a few words. He’s a personal favorite with a personality that shines no matter where he is.

3. Can you tell us about the process for coming up with the cover?

This cover in particular is special to me because the two models on the cover are very dear friends of mine. Chris and Cheyanne. That photo was taken inside my dining-room and then handed to a designer, who took my ideas and magically brought the cover to life! It’s exactly how I envisioned it from the beginning.

4. What do you hope for your readers take away from the story?

I hope my readers take inner strength and courage from my story, and put it to good use where ever they can.

5. What was the inspiration for Becklan’s Doll?

I live by the mountains and I was working in Carbondale, Pa. After so many musings on the way to work, it was only a matter of time before I decided to create a world under it and named it Crobania.

6. What inspired you to start writing?

I was thirty years old and working two jobs when I discovered Stephen King’s memoir. After reading it from cover to cover, I not only started my novel… but I did it long-hand as I didn’t have a laptop at the time. A highly recommended read for any inspiring writer!

7. When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

I started reading when I was young, 2 to 3 novels a week for years! That’s, when I noticed them; the mistakes. When I was able to spot errors inside published novels, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I started a few projects back then but I wasn’t anywhere close to ready. Now, I’m ready.

8. Do you want each book to stand on its own? Or, are you trying to build a connection between each book?

The books inside the Crestemere Series will each be a pivotal point. My readers can go from book to book without getting lost and still share a connection as they experience a character’s story.

9. Where can your readers purchase your books?

Barnes & Nobles, Nook and hopefully their local book stores.

10. Are you working on anything in the present you would like to share with your readers?

Readers should be expecting the second edition of the Crestemere series very soon, release date yet to be determined.

Hungry Hearts by Julie Hoag

Book: Hungry Hearts

Author: Julie Hoag

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

Hungry Hearts is a contemporary romance fiction and Young Adult novel written by the author Julie Hoag. It is the debut work of the author. The protagonist of the story is a girl named Landra who was suffering from Anorexia i.e. eating disorder. The story is based on the real life experience of the author with this disease in her teen years.

The story is about Landra finding and falling in love in the most unexpected way. It also shows the importance of family and friends in one’s life. It gives a message to readers of not judging others as nobody is perfect.

I recommend it to contemporary romance and young adult genre fans. Cover page of the book is amazing and title is nice and related to the contents of the story. Before reading this book, I wasn’t aware of any disease related to eating disorders. I am glad that this book enriched my knowledge about it.

Introspections From A Clouded Mind by Jeffrey Robb

Book: Introspections From A Clouded Mind

Author: Jeffrey Robb

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4.5/5

Introspections From A Clouded Mind is a collection of poems written by the author Jeffrey Robb. This poetry collection highlights the feelings of someone suffering from trauma. A poem based on nostalgia is my favourite among the collection. Life & Regrets, Untold Stories are also nice.

Treasure these moments
I’m living in the past
Treasure these moments
I know they wont last
Remind me of those days
When dark times arrive
Remind me of those days
Of when I felt alive…

This book shows the in-depth feelings of one’s inner mind. You will feel connected to some poems as we also feel in such a way many times. It was a short read so I was able to finish it in a single sitting. I enjoyed reading these poems while sitting on my front porch with a cup of tea. Highly recommended to poetry lovers.

Cherry Trees by Dave Mayer

Book: Cherry Trees

Author: Dave Mayer

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4.5/5

Cherry Trees is the second book in the Franklin Boys Story series. It takes us on the journey of two brothers Julio and Jermey. Julio is an elder brother and Jermey is a younger one. They both joined Franklin High School after moving to Franklin. Julio is very good at baseball and has a great career in baseball.

Julio’s excitement was at the peak to leave the town of Franklin and have adventures in Salt Lake City. He was called by the Giants Organization. The story is narrated from various viewpoints of Coach Jacobs, Luke Fisher, Pam Thomson, etc.

This is a wonderful book written around the baseball sports and the journey of a baseball player towards a bright career in baseball and at the same time managing his love life. It’s a great story beautifully penned down and I am now curious to read the third book in the series. Grab a copy of this book and go ahead with it.

The Five Fierce Tigers of Rosa Martinez by Burt Kempner

Book: The Five Fierce Tigers of Rosa Martinez

Author: Burt Kempner

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

The Five Fierce Tigers of Rosa Martinez is a Children’s Book written by the Author Burt Kempner and illustrated by Stephanie Richoll. The protagonist of the story is a brave girl Rosa. One day she got a cut on her toe and it was causing her pain. She rushed to her grandfather Luis to find a way so she can bid early goodbye to her pain.

Luis asked Rosa to call her inner animal helper for help. She thought of a tiger and five are always better than one . She can summon the tigers whenever she is in trouble and needs help. This book gives a message to little readers that our strength lies within us. We just need to call our guardian animal to walk out of trouble with self-help

The story is written well and Illustrations are awesome. Tigers description could have been limited because main motive is to show that we can fight our own troubles by collecting our inner strength. Overall it is an amazing book and I recommend it to little kiddos so they can be brave and powerful like Rosa.
