The Impostor Lie by Corinne Arrowood is an intense read from beginning to end. The story follows Babe and Trinity, with Chancée making a striking presence. At eight pounds eleven ounces, Chancée is a big baby for tiny Trinity. Trinity has no memory of her past life. Babe often visits the hospital to spend time with Chancée.

Trinity remembers fragments, and for what she cannot recall, Babe steps in to fill the gaps. Yet, this is painful for him—this Trinity is not the woman he once fell in love with. She doesn’t know about Babe’s boys and even calls him Vic instead of Babe. The weight of this change takes its toll on him. Still, he remains steadfast, holding true to his vow to stand by Trinity in sickness and in health, until death separates them.

The storyline kept me hooked throughout. It was wonderful to meet Babe again in this book. Corinne Arrowood’s stories always leave a lasting impression, with her characters staying in my thoughts long after the final page. I’m already eager to get my hands on the next installment in this series.

Her complicated past with Josh resurfaces when she runs into him in Prague—her mind may have moved on, but her heart clearly hadn’t.

In Budapest, Candace meets Lyndsay from Seattle, and the two quickly bond over laughter and good times. Candace’s around-the-world ticket stops in LA. In Prague, Czech Republic, Josh confesses he wants to be with her—yet admits he doesn’t love her. Despite the heavy moment, they continue traveling together, even sharing a quirky breakfast at Tatiana’s Erotica strip club.

The stories of her adventures across Munich, Amman, Cairo, etc stirred my own wanderlust, making me want to pack a backpack and set off abroad.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Candace’s courage to step away from a conventional life, purchase an around-the-world ticket, and fully embrace new places and connections is truly inspiring. Her vibrant experiences and heartfelt encounters make this an exceptional and memorable read.

I thoroughly enjoyed binge-reading this book over the weekend. Linda Phillips’s descriptive writing style makes the story vivid, and Ember’s character is instantly endearing. The pacing is excellent, the cover art is beautiful, and I loved every moment of the journey.

Q1. Hello, can you please introduce yourself? Readers would love to know more about you.

A1. Hi! I am a new author. I am a Veteran, and served in the US Navy. After the military I got my nursing degree. After about nine years working as a nurse I became an aircraft mechanic. I specialize in aviation life support systems. Now I am a published author!

Q2. What were the key challenges you faced while writing your book “The Dark Lost Within the Light”?

A2. The biggest challenge for me was balancing my time. Trying to work a full time job, spend time with my family, and write was challenging, but rewarding.

Q3. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

A3. This is a hard question; I think my writing is influenced by Nora Robert’s style. I also think Albany Walker and Blake Black have had an influence on me.

Q4. What’s your favourite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?

A4. That depends on the time of year. I love anywhere in New England in the Fall to see the beautiful leaves.

Q5. What inspired you to write the book ‘The Dark Lost Within the Light’?

A5. I was inspired by my life and how things change over time. I had an idea and built on it.

Q6. How long did it take you to write your book ‘The Dark Lost Within the Light’?

A6. I started writing and outlining this book over five years ago. At that time it was just a hobby. I started to take it seriously this past year and actually decided to publish it.

Q7. On what platforms can readers buy your books?

A7. For now my book is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback, and ebook. I plan to expand to other platforms soon.

Q8. Tell us about the process of coming up with the book cover and the title ‘The Dark Lost Within the Light’?

A8. The cover was made to highlight both the angel and demon characters in my book, with the dark and light wings. The title was inspired by a line in the book.

Q9. When writing a book how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

A9. I try to keep things interesting and relevant. I write what I like and hope others like it too.

Q10. What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?

A10. The best advice I received was to not give up. I was told to keep writing, it doesn’t have to be perfect on day one because it can always be improved.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and found it surprisingly relatable. The ending was refreshing and unexpected—I loved how it wrapped up. At its heart, the story is a gentle reminder not to undervalue our own worth when someone else steps into the spotlight. Through its playful characters, young readers will also take away lessons of generosity, kindness, and unity.

Ben Linehan has crafted a wonderful story for children, and I’m excited to explore more of his work in the future.
