Purple Chicken Feathers penned by the author Serena Caldwell and illustrated by David Pfendler is an interesting read. The story features three baby chicks born on a farm to mother hen. Two of the baby chicks were yellow in color but one baby chick was purple.

The yellow chicks avoided their purple siblings and also made fun of him. The purple chick went out looking for friends. Will others also tease him because of his different color or will they become his friends?

The illustrations are pretty and would catch kids’ attention on the first look. The cover photo is well designed. The language used in the book is lucid so kids can follow it easily. I loved every bit of this book. Looking forward to reading more books by the author.
