Fog & Fireflies written by the author T.H. Lehnen is an intriguing read. Ogma and other children have to protect their community from the fog. The kids have to guard the wall. They are immune to the fog as they are children. However, once they turn into adults, fog would be dangerous for them too.
As she gets older, the fear and the knot in Ogma and Wheeler’s stomach have been increasing. Ogma was told that the aliens have come to attack the town and kidnap children. When Ogma fell and woke up later, she saw hateful cloaked figures. She is determined to rescue her friends. The voices Ogma hears creates so much chaos and confusion.
In this story, the children are the caretakers of their parents or siblings. I enjoyed reading the story with this role reversal. I appreciate the vivid imagination of the author in world building. Ogma’s character is immediately likable and well written. The way the author has created an interesting plot with a fog is amazing. Those who enjoy reading YA fantasy stories should definitely get their hands on this book.
