🚀 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:
“A Guiding Light: Navigating abuse, alcoholism, addiction and love” written by the author Dale Preston is a great autobiography. In this book, the author has mentioned about sex, drugs, alcohol, love, abuse, loss, etc.
Dale was introduced to smoking marijuana when he was seven years old. In his formative years, his parents separated. At the same time, Dale was abused physically and sexually. He developed a smoking habit as a result. Things got uglier when Dale’s mother had an extramarital affair. During a fight between his mother and father, Dale’s mother used him as a shield as his dad wouldn’t harm him.
The author’s world turned upside down when his father passed away. When Dale consumed too much Cannabinol, his mother stepped over him and walked away. This made him feel his mother’s emotional detachment towards him. Read this book to know how Dale found recovery.
I appreciate the author for sharing his journey with us. This book gives hope and inspiration to readers that they can turn their life around. The cover photo of the book is nice. The writing style of the author is easy to follow. It’s great to see how the author is taking out time to help others. I am glad to read Dale’s journey. I strongly recommend it to my fellow readers.
