“The Faithful Dog” written by the author Terry Lee Caruthers is a Civil War Novel. This book is inspired by a true story and gripped my attention from the first page itself. Louis W. Pfeif informed his wife Elizabeth that he is reenlisted. Louis considers it his responsibility to serve for the country that has given them Freedom and opportunities.

As Louis prepared to leave home, Elizabeth was crying. Louis is given the rank of second lieutenant but Elizabeth is concerned for his safety. Their large black dog Bรคrchen was listening to the entire conversation and when Louis left, Bรคrchen ran behind him to join Louis on the mission.

After the training, Bรคrchen joined Louis in the Battle of Shiloh. Read this story to find out what will happen further. The writing style of the author is nice. This book highlights the emotions between a dog and a human. The title of the book couldn’t have been better than this. The cover photo is nice. I had a great time reading Terry’s book.
