The Microcosm written by the author Michael J Power is the first installment in “The Journey of Sire Magnis” book series.
The main character of the story is an honor student Sire Magnis who is 17-years old. Sire encounters a homeless young woman named Maria. Maria was a barren woman. So, she was asked to serve for the local prostitution ring, “House of Pleasure”. 38 years later, she was thrown out with the reason that she is old and not attractive anymore for the customers.
The city of Tarmith was attacked by the Eaters. Sire met a young woman named Niddah Lionheart. He fell in love with her. He wanted to mate with Niddah. But the Council of Eugenics will take that decision. Maria’s situation made Sire feel that the council doesn’t know what’s best for its people. Read this story to know more about Sire’s journey and what truths he will uncover.
The story is interesting. I appreciate the vivid imagination of the author in creating this fantasy world. The characters are written well. The storyline is unique and interesting. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it. I am looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.
