Lifelines penned by the author Shireen Magedin takes the readers on the journey of Tanya and Sarah. Sarah Shahzad Shah is a seventeen years old girl who moved to a small town called Nawabshah where she was admitted to the College of Medical Sciences for Women.

Tanya Kareem was recently promoted to inspector but when she received her posting orders to Nawabshah, she wasn’t very happy since it was an out of the way town. When Sarah’s bus stops at the gate of the college, her eyes meet those of the beautiful inspector Tanya. Both of them feel a strong connection between them. But it’s only when Sarah sees the body of a homeless man and was compelled by supernatural perception to look for the family of the deceased to get him a decent burial and closure for the family, that she meets inspector Tanya properly for the first time. Inspector Tanya was called at the time to arrange the legalities and to record the statements of Sarah and other people involved. It was strange and very unusual that they would feel a strong attraction to each other every time they met during the course of the events in the book.

One has to read this collection of stories to find out the continued connection between Sarah and Tanya.

The book’s flow of stories is gripping and I was hooked till the end. I liked the way the story ended. The glossary given at the end of the book is helpful. Cover of the book is suitable according to the story and the title couldn’t have been better than this. Go ahead and read Lifelines, I am sure you would enjoy it like I did.
