Spindrifts is the debut novel of the author A-M Mawhiney. Main character of the story is a fifteen years old girl Fania. After spending two years at Immersion, she headed home to her great-grandmother Alicia. Fania’s family members are well known for their contribution to the Earth Project. Fania’s little sister Nuna was so curious to know about Immersion but Fania can’t reveal much to her. Nuna already met the requirements of Immersion based on her music but she also considered the Academy.
Alicia is a researcher in a lab. During a discussion with Fania, Alicia told her people visit Land of Hope to learn about the progress they’ve made with the Earth Project. Alicia told Fania about how the Earth Project started. Alicia told Fania a lot about their family and the past. Story became more interesting when Fania recalled the conversation she’d overheard between her granny and gram about family secrets.
This is an intriguing story. Plot of the story is unique and I enjoyed every bit of this story. I appreciate the author’s vivid imagination in world building. There are so many characters in the story but the author has done a great job in describing each of them. Cover photo of the book is lovely. Go ahead with this novel without any second thoughts.
