“From A Hustla’s Life To The Pastor’s Wife” is a memoir written by the author Re’Gail. In this memoir, author has shared about her personal life. Growing up in 70s had both advantages and disadvantages. As a child, author was skinny. Her parents used to have many arguments. Seeing her parents smoking, her mom going through depression, Re’Gail had decided earlier in life what she doesn’t want at least. When Re’Gail visited her sister in Atlanta, she discovered life beyond Mayberry. Her relationship with a man Buster who was five years older than her got her pregnant and Re’Gail took the decision to raise her son Zion. At the age of sixteen, it is such a big responsibility to raise a kid along with other stuffs going on. Author has shared about her relationships and how the men were involved with different women at the same time.
Author has shared her thoughts after every chapter and it was interesting to read about her thoughts. I love reading memoirs because it introduces me to someone’s experiences and I learn a lot from it. Language of the book is lucid. Cover photo is nice. Writing style of Re’Gail is nice.
