The Stone in My Pocket is the first book that I have read by the author Matthew Keeley. Story is set in the year 1999 in Drichton. Protagonist of the story is Nathan Love. After midnight, Nathan saw a shadowed figure standing in the doorway outside his bedroom. Nathan was frozen after seeing that figure but he couldn’t shout like other kids and call his parents as his parents had stop listening to all these stories by him years ago.

When Nathan was on his way to bus stop, he saw a paper with ‘PART TIME ASISTANT NEEDED. ENQUIRE WITHIN’ written on it. Nathan wanted to work at a book shop. He enquired about the job details from the book shop owner Iris and he got the job. From Iris, Nathan learnt that she runs a spiritual circle on Wednesday nights that helps people to increase their awareness of spirits. Will Nathan be successful in finding out about the ghost he sees in his house? Grab a copy of this book and find it yourself.

Plot of the story is very interesting and it grabbed my attention from the very first page. Language of the book is simple and easy to understand. I loved Nathan’s character the way it is written. Title of the book is apt and cover photo is nice. Overall, I enjoyed this story as the plot is unique. I strongly want to recommend this book to my fellow readers. I had a great time reading this story.
