Jakobi and Me is a Children’s Book written by the author Ashequka Lacey and illustrated by Lavonne Andrese. This a story of two brothers. Ameir is an elder brother who loves his younger brother Jakobi. Jakobi is a baby with special needs. He was born with Thanatophoric Skeletal Dysplasia. It is a kind of dwarfism. Due to this Jakobi chest is smaller and his lungs hasn’t grown properly.
Jakobi was different. This made Ameir’s friends to ask him so many questions. But Ameir as a good elder brother made everyone aware about Jakobi’s difference and yet how he is normal. Read the entire story to know yourself about the feelings of a big brother after meeting his differently-abled new born brother.
The book is written and narrated well. Illustrations are nice and this story gives us a message to be like Ameir who is kind and caring to his younger bro. We all should be kind to people of special needs and should make them feel as an ordinary person.
