🚀 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:
“The Case for Cameron” written by the author Gale Haselden is a unique story of the author. The author has mentioned how before even being born, she was unwanted. The pain of losing her best friend Kat and her grandmother Lylah was too much. When the author was six years old, she was sexually abused by a family member.

In spite of the terrible times, some people in the author’s life made things worth fighting for. Adaline, Clide, Jake, Zack and Kat are the main ones. Towards the end of freshman year of high school, the author got an eating disorder. After losing Kat, she started to live her life as if she was living for her best friend and herself.

The diagnosis of cPTSD was in a way helpful to the author. She realized that her reactions weren’t her fault. This helped her in forgiving herself. The author’s first domestic violence relationship was with Jaden, her first abuser. That was the contributing factor in Cameron taking advantage of the author/Tiffany Haselden. Her relationship with Cameron was built on the traumas and abuses from her relationship with Jaden. One trauma leads to the other so ending the cycle is very important.

There is heavy content in the book including abuse, violence, etc. Through this book, the author hopes to help other people in their journey. I appreciate the author’s resilience to stay strong even after going through so much in my life. Gale is an inspiration for others to start their healing journey. The writing is raw and the language used in the book is lucid. Those who love reading memoirs or books with many characters should get their hands on this one.
