Life Support by the author Nicole Brown is an interesting read. The main character of the story is Donnie Stacks. Donnie is pursuing false wealth. A young lady Nicole Broussard warns Donnie many times to not walk on that path but Donnie was blind by false wealth. He wasn’t able to see the truth which Nicole was trying to show him.

Will Donnie’s eyes open to the truth? Will he finally understand what Nicole was trying to tell him? We could relate to the character of Donnie very well. Many times in life, people around us warn us but we refuse to see the truth. This story is written in the form of a poetry journal and I enjoyed reading it.

The readers would be able to relate to many situations in this book. The cover photo of the book is fine and the title couldn’t have been better than this. This book will strengthen your belief in God. I am glad to read this book. Go for it. I am sure you would be delighted to read it.

I love reading poetry journals. Recently I got my hands on the book “Cleansing the Temple” written by the author Britt Diane. This book is a collection of poems based on a woman’s healing journey.

This book takes the readers on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions of healing, heartbreak, loss, self-love, self-esteem, etc. Some of my favorite poems from the collection are: Make better decisions, Emotions, Transformation, Know Your Worth, etc.

If you knew how powerful sex is You wouldn’t have it with anybody. If you knew that your
Anger
Bitterness
Confusion
Depression
Self-hate
And anxiety
All came from the decision to Lay with someone you didn’t know……

This book reminds us to have high self-esteem, know our worth and not to look back. We shouldn’t let anyone hurt us more than once or twice. It’s better to cut such people from our lives.

This book is a reminder to trust God. When we believe in God, we receive his abundant love and growth in our life. Those who are trying to heal from an unhealthy relationship should get their hands on this book. You would be able to relate and would also find enlightenment. Well written book by the author. Looking forward to reading more books by the author in the near future.

The Diminishing of Slime written by the author Nicole Brown is the third installment in the All About Slime book series.

This is a poetry journal. One would love many poems from this book. Better, Tears from the Years of Pain, Let It Flow, We can be Friends, etc are amazing. My favorite poem from the collection is Better.

I didn’t deserve what you gave me, Or what they (your wives) gave me either.
I didn’t deserve how the schools treated me either.
I guess it happened because the entire time I was better.
Many got angry at my potential and accomplishments,
Because maybe they have reached their lives’ pinnacle,
Or better yet haven’t found out their lives’ purpose.

I could relate to this poem as last year, a few people were jealous of my success and they tried to spoil things for me. With God’s hands on me, I ended up in a better and peaceful place that I deserve. Sometimes jealous people try to make things worse but instead things get better for us.

This story involves a Mistress, a man and his wives. What will happen when there is a realization that it’s a real love and not a counterfeit one. The book is written in a simple language and readers would be able to follow the story easily. I had a great time reading this book.

“The Refusal to Return to Slime” written by the author Nicole Brown is the second installment in the All About Slime book series. It is a poetry journal. This is a journal with dark secrets, confrontation, forgiveness, cheating , etc.

The poem Private time made me realize if we aren’t happy with ourselves, how can we keep our partner happy? Also, it taught us that we shouldn’t talk about another person during our private time.

He blocked my money is another story in which a guy loves her for her money. Once her money is blocked, she wishes the same for him one day. Read this journal to know what happens in the story next.

I appreciate the trust that is shown in God through this book. I am a believer in Jesus. After reading this book, I got the reminder to put God first in my life. This poetry journal is worth reading. I finished it in a single sitting. Binge read this book.

The School of Hard Knocks is a novella with poetry and activities. The main character of the story is an African-American teacher Ms. Nicole Broussard. At Westwood High School, Nikki was disrespected by the administrators in front of high school students.

Abuse and racism killed Nikki’s dreams in Westwood. Ms. Broussard is a knowledgeable teacher who knows much about her subject. Read this story to know will Vikki win? This is a great story that shows faith in God. If God is on our side then it doesn’t matter if others are not on our side.

School students must be able to relate to this story. I like to recommend this book to school teachers and students. It’s a different story. It’s the first time that I have read a novella with poetry. This book is worth reading.

Attaboy is a great memoir by Caleb Thornton. It will take you to the author’s childhood days. Caleb was happy with his relationship with his father. He feels himself, protected, and loved with his father. They used to spend time together.

When Caleb’s parents were separated, his relationship with his father was also impacted. His father stopped visiting him. During school years, Caleb tried finding comfort in different men who weren’t worth him. Read this story to know will Caleb finally find someone who will make him feel good about himself?

The author has used mature and lucid language in this book. I appreciate the way Caleb became dedicated to his father. He cared for his father. This is a short read that one could finish without putting down. It would be amazing to read more memoirs by the author in the future.

Hope Knocking written by the author Nova Mann is a captivating story. This book took me down the memory lane to the days when the world was hit by coronavirus.

The story features an Appalachian family. Amantha considers herself as half hillbilly and half flatlander because her momma grew up in Appalachia and her dad’s family is from the Deep South. Matthew is Amantha’s soft-spoken mountain husband. The author has mentioned a Mountain Heart song which explains their meeting. Amantha’s momma Nancy Mae retired from her teaching job in Georgia. Read this story to know about how their lives would be turned upside down by the coronavirus.

This is a well written book. The author has done great work as a debut author. I enjoyed every bit of this book. The story is fast paced and I wasn’t bored anytime while reading it. One could relate well to this book as we all struggled during Covid-19. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts.

Paint By Numbers is a captivating story written by the author Sheila Fowler. One of the main characters of the story is Delilah Cross, Houston’s most famous artist. She signs her project with her initials DC instead of using her name. Delilah lost her parents when she was a teenager. Her best friend Nat’s parents are Delilah’s godparents.

The City of Houston has asked her to create a mural for the Rodeo’s 90th Anniversary. Miles Turner is a footballer and the most gorgeous man in the NFL. When he met Delilah, he used a line on her. Delilah was hiding her face from the public but Miles introduced Houston to Delilah Cross and also mentioned that soon she will be the most famous Houston resident. Will there be chemistry between Miles and Delilah?

The storyline is intriguing. The characters seem real. The way Sheila has written the story has impressed me. The way the characters meet is what I love the most about her books. If you are looking for some good romance, then go for this book without any second thoughts.

I love reading romance novels. Salsa Lessons written by the author Sheila Fowler is the first book in the Love Craft book series. The main characters of the story are a lonely bookstore owner, Morgan Lee and a lonely Mexican singer Miguel Lujan.

One day, Miguel was all sweaty and thirsty. He stopped by Morgan’s bookstore. The connection between them was instantaneous. Morgan doesn’t have a clue that Miguel is a Mexican singer who is in Chicago to record his first English speaking album. Read the story to know how things will go between the two of them.

The story is written from the point of view of both the characters. If you are looking for an escape from reality, grab a copy of this book and dive into the world of romance. The narration is smooth and the way the author has created a romantic world in this book is amazing. Being a book lover, I loved the way the story began at the bookstore. Looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

Acting On It by the author Sheila Fowler is the second installment in the Love Craft series. The main characters of the story are Evelyn McCormack and Christopher Redmond. Chris got out of rehabilitation six months ago. He is clean and sober. He wants to show the world that there is more to him than just an alcoholic who falls all over any woman at a bar. Chris loved the story of Evelyn’s book ‘Lolly’s Spring’. He wants to produce a movie based on the novel.

Evie has been fighting her own demons. They met at lunch to discuss the movie making. Will sparks fly between them? What will happen further in the story? Find out by reading this book. The past of Evie and Chris can haunt them anytime.

This is an amazing book for light reading. Sheila’s writing is in a flow. I didn’t feel like putting the book down until I finished it. The characters are interesting. The backdrop setting is nice. If you want to give a try to reading romcom books then go ahead with this one.
