A Passionate Farewell to Passion is the first book that I have read written by the author Jay Reece. This work of writing is purely confessional and the author hasn’t held back anything from the readers.

The poem Consume opens our eyes. It makes us realise that self-doubt, love, pity, people consume us so much and leave a stain or scars in us. No matter how much something or someone consumes us, we can fix it because we are powerful.

The long weekend is a wonderful poem in which the narrator has distanced themselves from everyone. No phone or social media app to bring more chaos. The author loved this alone time and it made them feel fine.

‘Just quickly, I need you to know’ is a poem through which the lover writes how much a loved one was needed today. This love is so strong that the narrator wishes to write for the loved one in another life too.

The content of the book is sensitive therefore the author has given the trigger warning. Readers may be able to relate to a few moments from the book as they may have similar thoughts. Life could be dark at times but there always exist a light and you could find it easily if you decide to heal. Writing is a way to heal and the author has expressed many thoughts in this book.

Looking forward to reading more books by the author.

The Many Wonders of Deanie written by the author Bernadine Ziegler is a must read. In this book, the author has shared about different encounters in her life. The author has shared about her various experiences in the form of poems or short stories.

Hey World Look at Me is a wonderful poem in which the author has revealed that she has gone through many trials and tribulations. With multiple attempts at suicide, depression, mental break down, etc, she asked the God what all she has to endure? Bernadine soon found her answer and she realized she hadn’t been in touch with her religion.

She went to church to seek her answers. She is lucky to have such a supportive husband. The author’s life is a lot better now and she is happier. This book gives hope to the readers. No matter how difficult your time now is, it will definitely pass one day and you will find happiness again. This book strengthened my faith in God.

I am glad to read Bernadine’s journey. The cover photo is nice with a suitable title.

Tales of a Film Prop Man written by the author Pete Benson is an interesting read. Through this book, the author shows us a side of the film industry which we never knew existed. The author has shared his wonderful experiences and funny moments he had working in the film industry.

Once Pete was in need of a job. His brother Les told him about A Prop Man. Pete knew that being a Prop Man is a huge lifestyle change as compared to 9 to 5 jobs. Soon, Pete was accepted as a Prop Man and the rollercoaster journey of his life began. Pete’s wife Ann was pregnant when he was working as a Prop Man. To earn and save money, he couldn’t visit home for days. After Ann’s early delivery, Pete was proud to be a father and that inspired him to do better in his career.

After completing his first full production, Pete learnt many things. He was glad to have a regular income. Pete started a career as a Prop Man so he could leave it after earning some money for a few years. However, the vast experience, exotic locations, meeting big stars, travelling the world, etc inspired him to stay in this career for a long time. The author has given us a sneak-peek into the world of filmmaking through this book.

The writing style of the author is nice. I loved the way Pete has described his experiences in so much detail. The way Pete’s wife supported him and increased his morale at times is appreciated. It is a unique book with unique experiences of the author. The book is well paced and I had a great time reading it.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World written by the author Lisa R Stanton is an intriguing read. Through this book, the author is guiding the little girls about the most beautiful girl in the world. The author has described many characters that the most beautiful girl has.

These characters will inspire little girls to follow on the same path so they too can become the most beautiful one. The beauty that Lisa has described in this book is the inner beauty. This most beautiful girl never let something wrong happen to others. She is brave and speaks up when someone’s being treated wrong.

The language used in the book is simple and little girls would have a great time reading this book. The colorful pages of the book will be enjoyed by everyone. This book set a direction for me as there are certain qualities which I want to improve in myself. I loved this book. It’s the best book that I have read this year.

A Life in Verse written by the author Natalie V Frazao is an intriguing read. This book is an anthology of poems that are inspired by life and family. This book would take the readers on a rollercoaster ride full of love, drama, trauma, joys, etc.

Your dreams you need to communicate
Write them down then wait
Review them at every date
It is these thoughts that you put down
That will appear all around
Never give up on your desires Patience and hard work light the fires
That are heard through the wires Faith and follow through are the key To allow the Universe to hear your plea

Your Dreams You Need to Communicate is my favorite verse from the book. Love, I Love You More, Another Year Has Gone By and Going by Today are some of my favorites from the collection. One could relate well to these verses as the topics are common.

By writing the verses in this book, the author is releasing her thoughts in the Universe. The language used in these verses is simple and easy to follow. I am glad to read these verses. The cover photo is soothing and the title couldn’t have been better than this. Go ahead with this without any second thoughts.

Damned If I Do written by the author Aimee Ungersma is an interesting read that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it. The main character of the story is Marcy Good. She is a witch. Marcy’s mother was killed because of magic. Her aunt took her sister Dorothy and her in. Aunt Abigail didn’t want Marcy and Dorothy to learn magic. Marcy had a difficult life with her aunt while growing up. They had to move often so that people wouldn’t notice that they aren’t aging at a normal rate.

Once, Marcy met a powerful warlock Archer but he is unkind. Marcy requested him to teach her magic as she doesn’t know anyone who could teach it to her. Marcy fell in love with a priest named Ben. Marcy’s aunt interrupted their life and Marcy found out that her aunt had invaded Ben’s dream.

Read this story to know what happens next. The title of the book is suitable. The narration is smooth and strong. The characters are interesting and the story is written well by the author. I loved Pixie’s character as well. This book kept me on the edge of my seat until I finished it. Looking forward to reading the next book by the author.

Twisted Family Holiday Collection written by the author JR Wirth is an interesting read. This book is a collection of different stories and is a perfect combo for a holiday season. 

“Destiny’s Lot: A Halloween Love Story” is my favorite from the collection. The story is set around halloween. JR fell for a girl named Destiny who was a Cuban immigrant and she ended up in California. She has a beautiful face and JR was totally mesmerized after listening to her story. One Halloween morning, Destiny agreed to go on a date with JR. JR couldn’t still believe how Destiny agreed to go with her. He is quite excited about the date but unexpected events started happening when he took the kids out for a trick or treat. Has Destiny really agreed for a date?

“Return to the Town Beneath the Christmas Tree” is another interesting story. One day, Harper was having whispered conversations with the nativity scene, along with the couple and their baby in the sleigh. There were ornaments which disappeared and then reappeared under the Christmas tree. The young generation knew that there was magic involved with the tree and they wondered how the magic came to be. 

The stories are gripping. Readers could read one story at a time. One would enjoy these books the most in the holiday season. The characters are well written and the narration is smooth. The stories are well paced by the author and I enjoyed each of them. The author has given a suitable name to this collection. Great work by the author in this collection. Looking forward to reading more of his work.

experiences with love, mania, sadness, and escapism.

my own thing.

And who I think
I want to be.

The above lines are a reminder that our happiness is in our hands only. Nobody could heal us. It’s only us who can heal ourselves. Similarly, it’s our responsibility to fulfill our goals.

Do not require all the attention from him.
YOU
Do not need to give him yours.

The above lines are a perfect reminder to those who are in love with someone. Sometimes we give so much attention to the person we love and we don’t get the same level of attention.

These poems, prose, and lyrics are so relatable that I enjoyed this book. The author has used lucid language that one could follow easily. The cover photo of the book is designed well.

Those who enjoy reading poetry should definitely get their hands on this book. I had a great time reading it. I strongly recommend it to others.

“The Couple’s Counsel: A Story on The Journey Towards A Fulfilled Marriage” written by the authors Ikenna Ngene and Ijeoma Ngene is a must read book. Tom Jones and Liz are our guides on this journey. The book started with a couple Pete and Jane who kept on arguing with each other. They went to attend a couple’s retreat where they met other couples. Reading the introduction of all the couples was interesting.

When the couples argued, I realized how we let small things come in between our relationship, how the words of one could make the other angry, etc. This book gave me practical tips to take the relationship to another level. Since the author has explained the theory with the help of examples, I could connect well to it. All the couples are different and have different issues between them.

Read this book if you want to bring back the spark in your relationship. The description is so strong, I felt as if I was watching the couples working their relationship.

Being single with a desire to get married soon, I must say that I have got my hands on this book at the right time. This book is for married couples too as they can read it together to identify the areas of their marriage where they can make a change. It is an engaging read. I have mentioned important points from this book in my journal for future reference. Looking forward to reading more books by the author.

“Stop This Game: My Life with Bipolar Disorder” written by the author Jaka Tomc is an intriguing read. This is the story of the author who was declared bipolar in 2008. The author has shared about his daily struggles. He has explained the difference between hypomania and hypermania.

The author has mentioned how the problems that seemed bigger the previous day seem smaller the next morning. He felt a tingling sensation all over his body. Jaka was strapped to a hospital bed for eleven days as he was a danger to himself and others. When his girlfriend of five years broke up with him, he went into severe depression.

Jaka didn’t want to play the game anymore. That’s why he has titled the book “Stop This Game”. Read this book to know more about the reason behind this title and what game the author is talking about.

Those who love reading memoirs should definitely get their hands on it. I strongly recommend this book to everyone. I appreciate Jaka’s courage in sharing his story with the world. This book made me realize how things are for someone who is bipolar. It is an insightful book. This book widened my perspective. Jaka is inspiring to us because he isn’t angry about the disease. He is glad about the experiences and learnings he got as they have shaped him into the person he is today. A must read book!
