Røyken by Marc McGowan is a horror novel. Røyken is situated south of Oslo. Doctor Adrian Hope lives with his fiancee Rachael. They both are the natives of UK but lives in Norway. They are Norwegian speakers but only Adrian Hope can speak it fluently. Adrian is a general practitioner. One of his patient Mrs Johansen is quite old. Since her husband’s death, there is void in her life and even a little darkness scares her. One night, when the light went off, she called Dr Hope to visit her.

When he reached her house, he saw there is no light at home. On reaching a lightly lit room, Dr Hope saw Johansen’s nurse Agnes lying on the floor and on checking her, he didn’t found any pulse. Mrs Johansen was standing at the window. She looked angry and powerful. She attacked Dr Hope with a scissor. An old Mrs Johansen who wasn’t even able to look after herself is overpowering the doctor now. How is it possible? Grab a copy of this book and read it yourself to unveil the suspense.

Cover photo of the book is spooky. Title is short and sweet. Language of the book is simple. Narration is smooth and I was easily able to follow the story. The Norway winter description made chills to run down my spine. Plot of the story is unique and the story will scare you more if you will read it at night. This novel is written so well. Marc has done great work in his debut novel. If you love reading horror stories, don’t miss to enjoy this one.

There is an insomnia pandemic across the globe that is preventing people to function properly. Various people are involved with the research. Dr Cooper Delaney who had been with Proteus for eight years has made a wonder drug that is 100% effective and doesn’t have any side effects.

Malcom Schwartz who feels more fatigue when he woke up than when he drift off to sleep tried the wonder drug but it failed. When Malcom was put again to sleep test, Cooper noticed that he is burning 200 calories per hour during the sleep test. Cooper couldn’t believe the test results. Tests were conducted multiple times but they all showed failure. Cooper wants to find the answer to so many questions. Grab a copy of this book and read it to know what will happen next.

The storyline and the concept is unique and interesting. Many people suffer from insomnia nowadays. Those readers will definitely enjoy this novel. Language of the book is interesting. There are so many characters however in this novel to keep track of. This is so because it’s a character driven novel. I binge read this novel on weekend and I enjoyed it. A cast of characters list at the beginning or end of the book would have been great. Overall, it’s a nice story that I like to recommend to my fellow readers.

There are different topics discussed in this book like equality empowerment, financial empowerment, sexual abuse survivors empowerment, etc.

In the chapter “It’s OK not to be OK”, Lisa Campbell has shared her personal journey related to getting healed from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse. Suffering from sexual abuse at an age of six can damage a child so much. Lisa has shared great tips on how set herself free.

I am glad to come across this book. This book motivates the women who are suffering or have suffered from some trauma. It tells them that they are not alone. They are many other women who have suffered in the past but has healed now. Language of the book is simple. Cover photo is well designed. It is a short and quick read that one can finish in single sitting. Don’t miss to read this book. It’s worth reading.

Rescue by the author Sean Sanborn is Young Adult book. It is the first book in the Naga Trilogy. Story starts with a 9 years old orphan Katya from Mae Naga village discovering the truth from her uncle and aunt. They told her that if you want to save your life, you have to run away. On finding out more, Katya got to know that she is selected to be offered to dragon Naga. Every year one child has to be sacrificed to keep the lords happy. Katya ran away from her home. Read the story to know where she went.

Main character of the story is Chaz Stevens who is a missionary kid in Thailand. A mission team has to come. Sarah, Chaz’s nine year old sister is hoping that they would bring chocolates like the last team brought when they came from Virginia and Chaz is looking forward to see how the team will be.

It is the first book I have read that is written with great thoughts. Cast of Characters in order of appearance helped me to know a little about the characters prior to reading the book. As a result, I was able to connect well with the story. Chiang Mai Thailand and Northwest Thailand map was also helpful. Writing style of author is impressive. Cover photo is nice and title is suitable. Overall, it’s an amazing read that I like to recommend to my friends.

Snapshots by the author Eliot Parker is a collection of short stories. These stories are set in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Some of the short stories from this book are Hands, Reckless, the Ten Pin, etc. My favourite story from the collection is Reckless. It is about Sheriff Jonas Holdren who was on the patrol and was drinking vodka.

Jonas has almost retired. He pressed the pedal of his truck and increased the speed thereby hitting a girl. When Jonas checked her pulse, he didn’t found any. The girl was dead. When Jonas went to the police station and reported about the incident to another officer Will, Will will go to secure the crime scene. Jonas didn’t told him that he has hit the girl. Will gonna find the truth about girl’s murder or something else will happen?

Language of these stories are medium. Cover photo is nice. The ending of these stories are really impressive. I have read many short stories earlier but Eliot’s writing is different. I enjoyed his anthology a lot. It is very well written. Those who love reading short stories shouldn’t miss to grab this one.

When a search party was sent after the Nash brothers, the search party went missing. Charlie made his own search party to identify the criminals. Language of the book is simple. Cover photo looks spooky. Storyline is quite interesting and it caught my attention from the very first page. Lee’s writing style is impressive. He has done a great job in building an interesting storyline. I am looking forward to read more horror novels by Lee.

Story starts from year 1982 when Roman Lawrence, a Communia was eleven years old. He met Stefan Blake, an Opulentus from a prominent family. Roman earlier thought Stefan is not a nice person but when he talked to him, he got a crush on Stefan. Roman is a bisexual who prefers boys more. Love angle is complicated, the way it is in school life. Mason like Lila, Steve like Lila and she also has a little crush on Steve, Parker like Roman, Stefan like Roman and Roman is confused about his feelings for Stefan.

After a misunderstanding due to Parker, Stefan and Roman cleared it and they ended up kissing each other. Stefan and Roman clicked the moment they first met. Roman’s dad Joel supported their friendship. Stef’s eldest sister Isabella is judgy whereas his other sisters Nattie and Nadia are supportive. Story gets more intense as Stefan and Roman relationship move further.

Read the story yourself to unveil the further suspense. Language of the book is lucid. Cover photo is so eye catchy. World building is something I really appreciate. Schwartz has created an interesting world that made me binge read this novel. Characters are well written. Stefan’s mother and Roman’s father nature was poles apart. I enjoyed this story overall. It’s a promising story guys so don’t miss to read it.

It is a self help book that will guide black teens to become the best young black professional. It is a short book to read that one could finish in a single sitting.

After getting mesmerized by the Romance and love between Brian and Christin in the first book of the series, my anticipation for the next book in the series grew even more and more. We all know that in our life’s some or another thing gets affected due to some happenings in our past, this is something which is quite justified in this book.

From the past series we know that Blake and Brian are very good friends , infact they are like family now. The equation between Christin and Blake is not so good, because of the obvious reasons. On other hand Elizabeth is a very pretty girl who just had a breakup with Kris and is not much sure about her future relationships. But when Elizabeth saw Blake for the very first time she couldn’t resist and kissed him without hesitation and their romantic journey started. Blake had a tragic incident in past which made many problems in his family , through which he had been dealing since ever. On other had Elizabeth was also a bit jealous to see the equation between Brian and Blake , and was afraid of that he might also ditch her as Kris did.

It will be interesting for you all to read that how both of them dealt with all the situations that were happening between them and what eventually happens? Will they both be able accept each other regardless of what is happening between them? . I also loved how friendship has been so nicely depicted in the book, true meaning of friendship is supporting each other in tough times , which is so nicely written and understandable. Well I’m sure you all would love what happens in last. It was really amazing to read the cute moments between Blake and Elizabeth, I am sure you all would eventually fall in love with their story .
