Cloud Cover is the debut novel of the author Jeffrey Sotto. Story features a gay guy Tony who is in his early thirties. Tony lost his mother when he was eighteen years old and he has been seeing his mother in his dreams since then. His ex-boyfriend Ken friend zoned him by giving him yellow roses when they went out to the piano concert.

Tony has eating disorder and mental health issues. He get rid of the extra calories he ate by vomiting it out. When Tony and Antonio went out he was surprised to see Antonio eating too much calories without any worry. Their relationship motivated Tony to get better.

Reading about Tony’s character and eating disorder made this book really interesting. His character felt real and so believable. Cover photo of the book is nice and author’s writing style is amazing. Written in first person, this is kinda novel that you won’t feel like putting aside once you start reading it. I like to recommend it to my friends. It’s a worth reading book.

With the war going on outside, Sanctuary is a place where people felt safe. The Sanctuary was founded by Jerome Evans and it was divided into 2 sections: the Highs and the Slums.

Selena lost her mother at an early age and when she was eleven years old, she lost her father too. Rowan was born up High and he belongs to the inner circle of Jerome. Rowan was different from the people up High were. He had always loved the Slums. Rowan is a guardian. He was enchanted with Selena when he saw her for the first time. Grab a copy of this novel to find out will their love be more powerful or the rules of Sanctuary? Who are Caleb and Cole and where are they?

Story is refreshing and the plot is intense. Most of the time I read simple love stories but this one is a forbidden romance. I kept on getting curious to know the story further as I turned pages after pages. There are many side characters also in the story. Who is Troy? Does he have any relationship with Selena? Read this promising story to know more. I am sure it won’t disappoint you.

“Judge me Now” written by Cheurlie Pierre-Russell features Dallas Jackson who had a rough time growing up. Dallas was nine months old when he was discovered and taken away from his mother Donna who were into drugs and drinking alcohol. Soon, he was taken to the communal foster home but Dallas didn’t receive the care he was supposed to receive there. There were so many boys in foster that Dallas didn’t even got enough attention.

Dallas couldn’t believe that a white couple has come to adopt him. He was adopted by Sarah and Hunter Miller when he was six years old. He also has two white brothers now who embrace him. Grab a copy of this book and find out yourself will Dallas have positive changes in his life? Are there any challenges that he has to face by living in a white neighborhood?

Language of the book is lucid. Cover photo is nice. I read this book in a single sitting. This story was an emotional read for me. Please be advised that it contains sensitive content like drugs, alcohol, etc. If you are comfortable reading about it go ahead with this. It’s a promising story.

The Love of Likes is a guide for teenagers and adults that will make them aware about the negative impact of social media. In this fast paced world where people especially teenagers are too much addicted to social media, they should read this book so they can have a positive change in their life. This book takes readers on the journey to use social media in a limited amount. It also guides them to deal with cyberbullying.

Whenever we post anything on social media, we start to fall in the trap of “love of likes”. If we get good number of likes, we get happy but if our post don’t get much likes, we keep on wondering why people are not liking it. Falling in the trap of loves of likes on social media is a waste of time. This book also guides us to be around someone from whom we can learn. This is the best way to learn. Showing off on social media won’t help us to grow in real life. Social media can even cause depression if not used rightly.

This book has opened my eyes also. I also had the love of likes once but it had decreased. After reading this book, I have decided to use social media in a limited manner and work on my offline personality so I can do better in real life. Language of the book is simple and I like to strongly recommend this book to my fellow readers. I am glad to come across this book.

“From A Hustla’s Life To The Pastor’s Wife” is a memoir written by the author Re’Gail. In this memoir, author has shared about her personal life. Growing up in 70s had both advantages and disadvantages. As a child, author was skinny. Her parents used to have many arguments. Seeing her parents smoking, her mom going through depression, Re’Gail had decided earlier in life what she doesn’t want at least. When Re’Gail visited her sister in Atlanta, she discovered life beyond Mayberry. Her relationship with a man Buster who was five years older than her got her pregnant and Re’Gail took the decision to raise her son Zion. At the age of sixteen, it is such a big responsibility to raise a kid along with other stuffs going on. Author has shared about her relationships and how the men were involved with different women at the same time.

Author has shared her thoughts after every chapter and it was interesting to read about her thoughts. I love reading memoirs because it introduces me to someone’s experiences and I learn a lot from it. Language of the book is lucid. Cover photo is nice. Writing style of Re’Gail is nice. Please be advised that it is a story involving grief, death, pain, betrayal, etc. Grab a copy of this memoir to know about her entire journey.

Broken Destiny is a novella written by the author Seleen Chetty. Story features two main characters: Ciara and Xander. Ciara had a loving and over-protective family. She moved away from her home but with a condition that her nanny Anna would also move in with her. But still Ciara felt the void in her life.

Xander Nikos on the other hand is in relationship with Vogue cover model and Swan heiress Lilly. Even though they were in relationship, Xander didn’t felt the electric spark on seeing Lilly. When he saw Ciara’s on the way, he was attracted by her fragrance. Later at the family lunch, Ciara was jealous to see her close friend Lilly in a serious relationship. Grab a copy of this book to know how Xander and Ciara end up sleeping together and what will happen further.

Story is told from multiple POVs. Narration is smooth. Since book length is less than 100 pages, I was able to finish it in two sittings. Language is lucid and cover photo is nice. I enjoyed reading this fast paced story and I like to recommend this to my fellow readers.

Recently I read the novel “A New Dawn” authored by Jiya Kaye. This novel is written in four parts. It started with Amelia (who wasn’t sure if that’s her name) escaping the facility because she was held there unwillingly for performing some tests on her. She escaped and reached a small village. Then, she continued moving to different places but she was eventually caught. Later, she realized that it was all a dream but she is strong willed to make an escape now.

Many countries have been working on a project to send astronauts to a foreign moon. Finally it’s the launch day and seven astronauts are all set with a spaceship to launch. It is the first time that humans are landing on a foreign moon. Many people have gathered to witness the historic launch. Grab a copy of this novel and find out yourself will their mission be successful. Will all seven return to earth safely?

The plot of the story is unique and quite intense. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put this book down. Narration is fast paced and I didn’t felt bored anytime while reading this. If you are looking for a sci-fi novel to read as a beginner of the genre also, I recommend this one.
