Apex is an adventure thriller penned down by the author Tyler Michael. Three friends Chris, Kevin and Kate went for camping. The rain from the night before made their planned river crossing impassable. Chris is an experienced one and he knew that some surprises always come to way when you camp. Kate and Kevin also accompanied Chris. Since they couldn’t make it to the camp they decided to find a flat area and set their camp there. Kate has some camping experience but for Kevin it’s his second camping trip. After finding a perfect place to set up their camp, Kate and Kevin set up the camp and Chris took care of dinner preparations.

After dinner, Kevin went to hang the food wrappers away from the camp to avoid predators nearby camp area. Soon, Kevin heard the footsteps of a stranger who later introduced himself as Ranger. In the morning, Chris and Ranger discussed about their life, company APEX, etc. As the story progresses, at the campsite, Chris heard a sound at night. When we went to check, he was knocked off his feet. Who has attacked Chris? Find out yourself what will happen next in the story.

Being an adventure lover myself, I enjoyed each and every page of this novel. Tyler has done nice job in maintaining the suspense. Title of the book is short and sweet. Plot is intense and fast paced. Descriptions are so strong that I felt like I am with the three characters on their adventures. It is a well written thriller that one shouldn’t miss to read.

The Reluctant Mafia King is a novella written by the author Melony Ann. It is the first book in The Crane Family Series. Ryan, Nick and Jason are three brothers. Ryan is a twenty years old college student and heir to one of the richest and most powerful and dangerous mafias in the world. Women fall at his feet every night but Ryan is very cautious with them and always take precaution before getting involved with them.

Crane men are all handsome, intimidating, have dark hair and chiselled features and women fall at their feet. One day, when Jason and Nick ran away from the mafia life, Ryan has to handle everything. He accepted his fate of running the Crane mafia. Ryan always knew that he has to do it sometime later but he haven’t thought that the time will come so soon.

Grab a copy of this book and find out yourself what will happen further in their life. Story is intense and since it is an intense short read, one couldn’t put it down without finishing. I enjoyed the storyline. It contains mature content so I like to recommend it only to adult readers. Cover photo is eye catchy and the title is suitable. Read this gripping tale. It’s a promising one.

The Aftermath of Unrest is the second book that I have read written by the author Natalie A Nascenzi. It is a poetry and thoughts collection. Rush Hour, The Beautiful Battle Ends, Roof Top Thoughts, Old and Wise are some of my favorites from the collection.

‘Christmas in New York’ tempted me to visit New York once during Christmas.
As we read the story, Natalie takes us between past and present. Poems have a date written at the top-right of the page. The arrow point tells us whether we are forward in time or back in time. It’s a great concept.

I was glad to see the beautiful paintings in the book. This is an inspiring read that one can enjoy with an evening cup of tea. I was glad to read about Newton’s laws and how his third law can be applied to characteristics of the personality. The quarantine experience was worth reading. Overall, it’s a great book that one couldn’t miss to enjoy.

Caliphate Ave is a short story based on real events written by the author Leilani Graceffa. Story started with Bradley Carleslie’s sister handing him the USD which she found in the backyard. Brad expected it to be empty but when he saw that the drive is not empty, he played the video stored in it. Whatever Brad witnessed in that video shocked him. He has watched it only partially and is looking forward to watch the entire video but he was being interrupted by his girlfriend and sister. Read the entire story yourself to unveil the suspense.

The story is intriguing and I read it in a single sitting. Cover photo of the book is nice. Plot of the story is captivating. From the beginning of the story till the end, it kept me curious to find out what gonna happen next. It is a well written short story and I am interested to read more short stories by Leilani.

Something Beautiful written by the author Charity Jackson is the second book in Pacific Grove series but it is a standalone.

Main character of the story is Grayson Tyler. He has been a part of Indigo Riot band until the band kicked him out of the group. Grayson was also one of the founding member of Indigo Riot but due to his drinking problem, the band’s reputation was getting affected. After being kicked out of the band, Grayson went to rehab so he could give up drinking and live a healthy life. He was also expecting the band to let him join again but one day when Scott visited Grayson’s parents home with Gray’s sister Meghan, Scott told him that the group needs time to trust him again and he could try something solo till now.

So, Grayson moved to Pacific Grove from LA so he could work on his writing. There, he met Olivia who manages her great-aunt’s ocean side rental in Pacific Grove. Olivia’s scars made her diffident. She made few arrangements for the new rental i.e. Grayson on Meghan’s request and she found Grayson as handsome. Olivia hide doing butterfly art, baking, managing rental, etc. Grab a copy of this book and read the entire story to know as love starts to bloom between Olivia and Grayson.

This is a beautifully written story. I kept on turning pages after pages as I read it. Characters are nicely written. I loved Meghan’s character. She is a good sister and very supportive to her brother. Olivia and Grayson’s characters are also nicely penned down. Storyline is pretty amazing and I would love if I would get to see this story being converted in a movie. Cover photo is nice and the title is suitable. It’s a great story and I like to strongly recommend this one.

“From the Water’s Edge” is a collection of poems. This book is very inspiring and an avid poetry reader can understand the deep feelings that author has expressed in his poems. The book overall is thought provoking. It discusses about issues like racism and injustice.

This book is an absolute gem, I loved it completely and I am glad to read it. Poems are short and are aligned to the left. Writing style of Shun is constant throughout the book. Cries of the Faithful and the Longing are my favorite from this poetry collection.

It’s a soulful read. I really enjoyed reading this and loved the cover of the book. I wish it to be a little lengthy. I am curious to read the next book by the author.

One day, a strange figure pretended to be his father and told him that secret which he couldn’t reveal to anyone. Later, when Manu was in his room, two creatures with feathers came to his room. One of them was a cursed one from the Mahabharata. It’s name was Ashwatthama. Ashwatthama invited Manu to come to the ancient city Shambhala. As Manu is curious to discover the truth, he went to Shambhala. What he will witness there?

This is a mythological fiction written in a lucid language. Cover photo of the book is nice. There are minor mistakes in the book and therefore it needs proper editing. The character of Manu is well written and I really enjoyed this novel. Apart from Hemlet and Ashwatthama Manu will meet other characters too. Find out more about them by reading this novel yourself.

It was an insightful read that enhanced my knowledge. I like to recommend it to my fellow readers.

A Warrior Moon is the first book that I have read written by T M Rowe. It is the fourth book in The Adventures of Sarah Tremayne. Sarah is a part of secretive sisterhood called the Mhyres-an-Loor. She received an amulet from Brenda, an amulet that is passed from mother to daughter and at that point the daughter is sent to the island for training. Mothers after handing over the amulets retire and are referred as Grandmothers. The whole island is overseen by a council of Elder Grandmothers.

When Sarah went to Roman Britain, she fell in love. Falling in love is against the rules for Mhyres-an-Loor. The young Belator son of Catonius is on the Island that is out of time. Sarah now knows that Bel is alive and on the island. There is no way to get on or off the island. Sarah sets out on a journey to find Bel. Will Sarah be able to figure out a way to reach to him?

This is a unique story. World building is interesting with strong description. I was feeling like I am with Sarah on her adventures. Writing style of the author is nice. Cover photo is well designed and the title of the book is suitable. Story has a fast pace so I wasn’t bored anytime while reading it. It’s a good story that I like to recommend to my fellow readers.

House of Bastiion is the debut novel of the author K.L. Kolarich. It is the first book in The Haidren Legacy. Orynthia is a Central Kingdom having four houses: House of Bastiion, House of Boreal, House of Darakai and House of Pilar. Two main characters are there in this story – Luscia Tiergan, al’Haidren to Boreal and Zaethan Kasim, al’Haidren to Darakai. The House of Boreal’s opposition to the House of Darakai had been constant for many centuries.

When Luscia arrived in Bastiion, she clashed with Kasim. Inspite of the clash, Zaethan has to keep his hatred aside and form an alliance with Luscia. Grab a copy of this novel and read yourself to know more about the duo and the chemistry between them.

Cover photo of the book is quite eye catchy with a suitable title. If you are interested in reading stories about sharp weapons, houses, politics, magic then go ahead with this. This story has great world building and rich characters. Glossary at the end of the book is really helpful.

I like to highly recommended this one to dark fantasy lovers and Young Adult readers.

One day, she moved out of her home to live with her grandmother. Soon, she had a job, got married, had kids and the farm but still Mirabelle wasn’t happy. She longed for intimacy, for her husband to look at her and see the real Mirabelle. Read the story to know how she will escape the life where she is stuck and move towards a happier life.

It is a well written book. Sandi has done impressive work in this book. Cover photo is nice and the title is short and sweet. Mirabelle is a French name meaning incredible beauty. Mirabelle’s talking to God are great parts of the book. Language of the book is lucid and I appreciate the storytelling skills of Sandi.

I like to strongly recommend this one to my fellow readers who love reading books on self-discovery and spirituality.
