“Shlok’s Dad: A Father’s Perspective Of Parenthood” is a book written by the author Vivek Sharma.

Author has shared various experiences of his parenting journey like his wife Reshma went to a labor pain, when he first time hold his son, potty discussion, naming game, etc.

When author has shared his WWF experience and he missed to notice a small child sleeping among the pillows, I went down the memory lane. Once in a hospital a newly born wrapped in a towel was sleeping on the couch, thinking it’s just a towel, I was about to sit on him.

If you are looking for a light hearted read then go ahead with this book. I like to recommend this book to new or wannabe parents. Language of the book is lucid so one could follow it easily. Cover photo of the book featuring Shlok and his dad is nice.

I have read many books on parenting from the perspective of a mother but I guess this is the first time I have read it from a perspective of a father. I am glad to know the terms DINK, SINK from this book. Phrases like “We are pregnant” and “Our Pregnancy” are amazing and should be used by every pregnant couple. There is much more that one can learn from author’s parenting experience.

Bloodlines written by the author Marcus Abston is the first book in “A Dying Truth Exposed” series. One day, Albert Brooks realized that his family is ignorant about their lineage and legacy so he was determined to educate his family.

He started telling them about the tale of his great-great-grandmother Annabelle. She was born into the Brown family on a plantation in Mississippi. She began working as a house slave. She was the favorite of Master Brown’s daughter Judy Mays. Annabelle was strong mouth girl. She often raised voice against the wrong things but was beaten up badly as a result. When Annabelle grown up, Master Brown started taking her advantage in absence of Judy and her mother. Will Annabelle ever be able to escape from the Brown family?

The story is too intriguing that it hooked all my attention. Author’s writing style is nice. Cover photo of the book is amazing and title is perfect according to the storyline. It’s a kind of book that you won’t want to put down without finishing it. I binged read it on weekend. A great story that more and more people should read.

Under Construction written by the author Natalie Yaipen is a story of Amira Luisa Fernandez. She is a sexual abuse survivor. She was abused sexually by her uncle. She started to stay quiet and just be with her books to ignore everything else. Amira made sure not to wear anything that can attract anyone’s attention. Will her abuser get the punishment he deserves? Will Amira be able to share everything with her family?

The way this book is written in first person made me more connected to the story. Also, I could totally understand Amira’s feelings when she was being compared with her twin. Comparing one sibling with another is the biggest mistake parents do. It can cause rivalry among siblings. Language of the book is simple and the narration felt like I am listening to the story from an adolescent. Author has managed to write this book in the voice of an adolescent. I like to recommend this book to others for a ride of Life.

Lovers of Science fiction dystopian couldn’t afford to miss to pick Orange City by Lee Matthew Goldberg. Story focuses on a secret City that is ruled by The Man. He wears same black suit and doesn’t eat. He is fed an orange liquid. He had multiple surgeries to become tall so his legs are now distorted.

The Man keep an eye on the entire city through his red eyes. The Man’s Scout E was given a job to bring a criminal Graham Weatherend from the Outside World to the mysterious City. Graham was blindfolded and was brought to the City by E. He was given a job and a task to taste different flavors of Pow! sodas: Orange, Lime, Raspberry – Blue and Cherry Red.

Curious to know the reaction of these different Pow! sodas on Graham? Grab this unique novel and enjoy it yourself. I really appreciate author’s vivid imagination in creating this story. Story plot is so different from usual dystopian novels. Language of the book is easy to follow. Cover of the book is powerful and this is the best dystopian that I have ever read.

The First Time by Pawas Jain is a book that I like to recommend to aspiring entrepreneurs as it has great info about start-up establishment.

The main character of the story is Raghav who is in his late twenties and has a chartered accountant degree. He is a Jaipur born guy and has started his adtech start-up VigyaPun. He has a small team and soon they opened their office in New Delhi and planning to expand to South India. One of his co-worker Disha just had a breakup. This made Raghav to think will his relationship suffer because of his successful start-up dream?

As Raghav had to manage the business development for the UK unit, will he go to London leaving his years old relationship with Kanika behind?

As this book revolves around the start-up journey and relationship so it was a great combo while reading. I enjoyed reading this book.
