The Forgotten Gun penned by the author John Reid is a crime thriller. Three months ago, Steve Burt was suspended by the Metropolitan Police Force. Because of his indiscipline he won’t be getting any pension. But his old boss Commander Malcom managed to get another six months temporary job for Steve. After six months, Steve will leave with pension intact, a wedge of redundancy cash and glowing testimonials.

Steve will be the head of the new fake units called Special Resolutions. Also, as the head of Special Resolutions, Steve will automatically be promoted so he will get a better pension, more redundancy money with higher salary for next six months. Steve agreed to Malcolm’s offer. He has two staff members also posted to him. Story became more intriguing when they have to solve a case of double murder. I was amazed by the killing machine that the killer has used and how accurate his planning was.

This is an unputdownable gripping thriller. The story kept me on the edge the whole time I was reading it. Cover photo of the book is nice and the title is suitable. Characters are very interesting and written well by the author. Pace of the story is fast and I enjoyed every bit of it. If you love reading crime thrillers, don’t miss to grab this one.

Shallow Like A Poet written by the author Anwesha Borgohain is a collection of poems. This poetry book has total thirty five poems. Poems are based on relatable topics like I want to forget him, if you ever come back, the haunted house, red, etc. My favourite poem from the collection is “The love once mine”.

I had a dream about you again.
Today we were walking on a
beach on a moonlit night.
You were holding my hand as the waves touched my feet every few seconds,
I looked into your eyes for the
hundredth time today.
And in your smile,
I saw the love once mine.

The poems are written in a simple language. Even if you are not an avid poetry reader, you will be able to understand these poems easily. The poems are about different feelings like love, loss, grief, etc. Cover photo of the book could have been more creative. I enjoyed reading this beautiful collection and like to recommend it to all poetry lovers.

Nikki’s latest client is a couple – Marvin and Lydia Potts. They have won £10 million in the lottery. She introduced herself to her clients as Veronica Doyle, from Archimedes. The company for which Nikki works provides a barrier between the lottery winners and the downside of having so much money. This company helps in relocating the lottery winners and give them a new identity. Nikki started seeing a therapist Dr Caroline Bradley about a month after the bank robbery took place. Dr Bradley suggested her to try hypnoanalysis, in which the victim re-live traumatic experience in a safe environment. Even though the robbery has happened six months earlier but Nikki still finds herself disturbed by it. Is Nikki putting herself in danger by taking the Potts case?

I love reading stories that has a mystery. This book kept me on the edge as I read it. Cover photo is eye-catching. Pace of the story is fast and I didn’t feel bored anytime while reading it. The twists and turns in the story kept me curious to find out what will happen next. Dialog narration is wonderful and I loved the way the story ended.

“The Destiny of the Wolves” written by the author Paola Giometti is a great fantasy story. Story features a boy who has grown up hearing different stories from his great-grandfather. When he was a child, his great-grandfather told him a story of the wolf hunt. This story is boy’s favourite. Recently, he turned sixteen and his great-grandfather has promised to take him on a trip to the mountains. As the boy turned sixteen, his great-grandfather took him on a trip. He told him a story about a brave she-wolf Kushi who has a vision of her forefathers.

Kushi along with the other wolves have to save their future generations from the men. Will they be able to find a way? Read this book to know about their detailed mountain journey. Cover photo of the book is nice and the characters are well written by the author. Language used in the book is lucid. Written in 23 chapters, this is a great story and I loved every bit of it. Middle grade fantasy readers shouldn’t miss it.

Recently I got my hands on the book “Not On God’s Watch” penned by the author Niecy E.A.E. Darden. The author has experienced so many miracles in her life that God has performed. This book is a testimony and the author is asking the readers to have faith in God because no matter how small or big our problems are, God is always there to take care of us.

This is a memoir. In 1997, the author got separated from her abusive husband and she became a single mother to her two kids: Michael and Lexi. Soon, she entered into a relationship with Andre’. He treated her with care and love. As the years passed by, they got married. After having a car accident, Darden underwent a knee surgery but Andre took care of household work, kids and her. Grab a copy of this memoir and read it yourself to know what all challenges the author has faced in her life and how God helped her every time by putting angels in her life.

Through this book, the author is inspiring the readers to believe in God. The author is giving a very important message to readers – Always listen to your body. Language used in the book is lucid and the cover photo is nice. I believe in angels that God places in our life as I have experienced them myself. Within just a few pages, the author has managed to share amazing ups and downs of her life. Narration is smooth and I am glad to get my hands on this book that is worth reading.

The 50-Year Secret penned by the author Eggy Hepburn is a true story of physical, mental and sexual abuse of a child by his own father. Eggy was born in Aldershot in 1958 to Gwendoline and Brian. At the age of eleven, he was abused by his own father. His father was a bully, a liar, etc. One day, he took Eddy to bathe and was standing very close to him. He used to do this on Thursdays when Eddy’s mom used to be at work. Earlier his family used to wonder why Eddy doesn’t talk much to his father but now they know the reason.

Father’s role is to provide the best to his kids. But when that person himself becomes your abuser then how could you trust others. Eddy has mentioned how in many cases, abused become the abuser later in life. But Eddy has raised his children and grandchildren well. After carrying the burden for 50 long years, Eddy informed his family and the police about the childhood abuse. Through this book, Eddy is asking the victims to reach for help. He has narrated his story well and I am thankful to him for sharing an important part of his life with the readers.

We shouldn’t let anyone take advantage of us. Standing up for ourselves is not easy but we should do it. Written in simple language, this story of Eddy could be read by beginners as well. It’s a story worth reading. I am glad to get my hands on this book. Story is fast paced and I like to recommend it to adult readers.

Grief penned by the author Taea Edwards is the debut book of the author. It is the first installment in the trilogy. Author has started this book by telling the readers what grief actually means. It is a deep sorrow, especially that caused by someone’s death.

Main character of the story is Amara Brayleigh who lost her role model and best friend i.e. her mother Viviana Brayleigh seven years ago. Story involves magic and lack of control was the reason Viviana had lost her life. Amara’s head spins even with the slightest use of magic. She completed her university degree in Dijurri’s history. Only work and reading at the library is what keeps her busy and entertained. Since Amara was listed as a mage on her birth papers and she was raised below the poverty line, not many people wanted to hire her. As the story progresses, Amara meets a guy Sloane who wanted to be friends with her but Amara kept on asking him to stay away.

Grab a copy of this book and read the story to know what happens next as Amara tries to navigate through life every day. Story is intriguing. Pace was slow in the beginning but after a few pages, the story picked pace. Language used in the book is lucid. Title of the book is suitable. Writing style of the author is amazing. Plot is interesting. Glossary at the end of the book is helpful.

Her father told that Bryan is a faceless Duke and he has raised Anna to deserve someone better than him. Story became more interesting as Bryan told William about his intentions of marrying Anna. If you love reading historical fiction then you couldn’t miss to get your hands on this amazing book. Dialog narration is beautiful and the cover photo is eye-catching. The way the author has written characters is impressive. The historical setting is amazing and the romance parts are my favorite from the story. Pace of the story is fine and I enjoyed every bit of this story.

Muhenda: Infernal Paradise is a black science dystopia set in Africa. Story is written by an African author, Wilson Miguel. The Black lives matter movement was successful and black had earned the right to live free but a white supremacist ended the law and all black people were asked to return to Africa. With the rupture of the ozone layer, things turned upside down and the Kingdom of Muhenda, in Africa is the only place with little biodiversity. Many people immigrated to Africa and became slaves.

Kwame Nankela is Muhenda’s crown prince. He hated a slave Selena whose father was executed, after he was supposedly accused of assassinating the former king of Muhenda. All the slaves have to suffer severe punishment often because of Selena. Even though she is determined to free them from slavery but everyone turned against her when Darren (Soviet Prince), was beaten badly by Kwame.

Story is interesting and unique. I appreciate the author’s imagination in writing this intriguing story. Cover photo of the book looks nice and the title is suitable. Characters are interesting and even though there are many characters in the story, the author has described them well. I enjoyed every bit of this story and like to recommend it to other readers.
