Lucina’s Letters penned by the author Barbara Francesca Murphy is an interesting story that explores the family secrets. Three girls Samantha, Lora and Grace were playing in the forest. They wanted to teach a lesson to the boy who was interrupting their play. So, they threw him into the river. The intention of the girls was not to kill him but the boy was gone now.

After her son Evan’s death, Rosie couldn’t gather herself. Years later, when she got the news of her half-sister Lucina’s death, she joined the family to go to Italy so they could attend Lucina’s funeral. Lucina was the head of the family. She knew that there was too much hurt in the family. There are many loose ends to be tied. When the family will hear Lucina’s letter, will the broken pieces be fixed?

This is a well written story that hooked me to the last page. A diagrammatic family tree would have been better to understand the characters well. Plot of the story is interesting. Lucina’s character is my favorite. She inspired me to be a compassionate person. This is a must read book. Go for it.

Djehane Hassouna’s ‘Rainbow of Emotions’ is a must read book by poetry lovers. This book is a collection of poems and the author has written a short poem for every situation I encountered. These poems are about nature, freedom, fear, war, wisdom, hope, etc.

In the poem ‘My Name’ the author has mentioned that she loves her name and there is a lot of history associated with it.

‘The House of God’ is a fantastic poem that shows the author’s belief in God. She believes that God lives in her heart. This poem reminded me to express my gratitude and stay calm in difficult situations.

Heat Wave is the poem with which we all can relate right now because of the unpleasantly warm weather.

These poems are so relatable that you would be glad to read them. Poems are written in such a way that the common man would also be able to understand these poems. I enjoyed reading a couple of poems in a single sitting. I am impressed with the way the author is successful in expressing her thoughts clearly in the form of poems. Go for it and thank me later.

Journey Into The Dark And The Light by author Annabel Harz

Book: Journey Into The Dark And The Light

Author: Annabel Harz

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

In “Journey into the Dark and the Light” the author Annabel Harz takes us through the journey of some parts of her life. Her struggles with mental health, depression, abuse. But not just struggles and depression, we see her overcoming and moving towards the light.

I am not an avid reader of poetry. I love reading and literature, but poetry is something I just always seem to put off. On the other side there are books about Mental Health. A genre and topic I value a lot. So how do Mental Health and poetry come together in this book? Perfectly.

The poetry in this novella is just astonishing, powerful and full of meaning. Annabel shows how powerful words and sentences can be if used correctly. These poems with the combination of illustrations make this poetry book something I won’t forget quickly.

I was emotional while reading this book as I know what depression can do to a person. I truly loved this switch up from my normal go-to books, and I am looking forward to what Annabel will come with in the future.

AL Stone’s “TALISMAN OF EL” is a fascinating story that revolves around the life of a teenager who is troubled because of the nightmares that he has. Four years ago when his father died, a day before he had a similar dream.

Charlie is a new student at Oakwood Secondary School. He is an orphan and an outsider so he will get everyone’s attention at school. But fortunately, Charlie made a friend named Alex at school. From his mother’s last letter, Charlie finds out that he is different and has a purpose on earth. Charlie even has a map of Arcadia. What will Charlie do with this map? Will he find another world on earth with the name of Arcadia?

Apart from the protagonist Charlie, other characters that play an important role in the story are Alex, Derkein, Richmond, etc.

The world building is so amazing. I was totally pulled into this story while reading it and it made me forget the real world for a while. After reading the first book in the series, I am curious to get my hands on the second one.

Rating: 5/5

The Extraordinary Ordinary written by the author Natalie Rodriguez is based on the award winning film. The book starts with Erica who has anxiety and she constantly reminds herself to just Breathe. She is a young photography student and her father gifted her ‘A Polaroid Camera’ as a going away gift.

I really loved reading this book as it focuses on mental health and trauma. It’s not at all easy to gather ourselves after a traumatic experience. Erica made a great start in life by moving to another city. She met Bianca and Alex, two uplifting souls who had their own tragedies from the past.

The book also inspires readers to focus on self growth. The characters are written very nicely. All the three characters Erica, Bianca and Alex became my favorite the moment I read about them. I wish I would have gotten my hands on this book earlier. This book is definitely recommended. Go for it without having any second thoughts.

The Male Nurse Survival Guide written by the author Chris Lengle is an informative guidebook that will help readers to know how to survive the profession of nursing. The story is told from the perspective of a young male nurse and hooked my attention from the first page itself.

The first thing that I liked is how right the author is when he has mentioned that women like to vent and talk out their problems whereas guys like to give advice and try to fix problems. I also like the advice of being neutral. One could find so much useful advice in this book.

This book will guide the new male nurse to work among the different types of lionesses. The tips for being liked by your manager would help me in my professional career. One important message that this book gives is never be afraid to ask for help.
