Death, The Pharmacist is a unique read. As the title of the book tells, Death is a living entity in the story and is a pharmacist. Death has mentioned about few humans who are constant and appear day after day at his counter to pick up their daily dose of life essence. Death is omnipresent. This helps him to manage the never ending line at the Pharmacy. To balance all life, human count needs to be reduced. Doctor suggested Death to kill a tenth of humanity in a handful of days. It’s Death’s job to kill.
One day, Death met a human Robinette. He became powerless and was not in his domain. She took him to places that made Death feel different. Death could leave his obligations behind at a place like this. Death is a character that is written well.
Cover photo of the book is suitable. Pace of the story is fast and I wasn’t bored anytime while reading it. Q1. Hello, can you please introduce yourself? Readers would love to know more about you.
Hi I am Angela Morrell. I live in Florida now but am originally from Texas and have also lived in the LA area for a few years. I love to travel and often do so around the states via RV and have been to see every major league baseball park because I’m a bit of a baseball lover. I started writing as a kid but had no encouragement so I didn’t really give it a go until later in life. This debut novel is actually a rewrite of one I started 30 years ago.
Q2. What were the key challenges you faced while writing ‘L.A. Dreams’ book?
Starting over from a finished novel many years ago was tough. I re-read it and knew it needed a total re-work, but I still loved my characters and think I did a much better job at bringing them to life this time around. I work a full ltime job so I really only have time to write during down time and days off.
Q3. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?
Janet Evanovich – I love how she writes simply and to the point. She’s not afraid to be bold and put herself out there. I admire that.
Q4. What’s your favourite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?
Las Vegas and New York City. I love to be in places that have a pulse 24/7 and a variety of exciting things to do so that every day can be different no matter how many times you visit.
Q5. Is there lots to do before you drive in and start writing a book?
No, it formulates in the back of my mind as I go about my daily life then I write notes about the beginning, middle, end and character traits that I put together later.
Q6. How long did it take you to write ‘L.A. Dreams’ book?
30 years or 1 year depending on how you look at it.
Q7. On what all platforms readers can find ‘L.A. Dreams’ book to buy?
As of right now Amazon, Kindle and will have Audible version available by mid June.
Q8. Tell us about the process of coming up with the book cover and the title ‘L.A. Dreams’?
The cover…when I think of palm trees I think of when I originally moved to LA and I was awestruck by the variety of palm trees and beautiful beaches. And for the title: Cory, (the main character in the novel) dreamt of success and stardom in LA since childhood and I guess I secretly do too in some form or fashion.
Q9. When writing a book how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?
I tend to stay away from formula writing and instead have quite the genre bend to most of my writing. It’s honestly a little bit difficult to put me in a single category as a writer. I have yet to decide if that is a good or a bad thing. As of now, it simply is and I’m going to let it be.
Q10. Are there any secrets from the book (that aren’t in the blurb), you can share with your readers?
This book was originally written in 1993 and I think it was kind of an outlet for my huge crush on Diana Ross. This was years before I was ready to admit that I might like women. There are hidden Easter Eggs (little things that are associated with her) throughout the story.
Rise penned by the author Julian Jackson is an action packed thriller. Main characters of the story are two kids: fifteen years old CniDaria (Ni) and twelve years old Ty. Story started with Ty watching buildings in front of him on fire. People are dying and soon fire would reach his building. Ty and Ni escaped their building and even left Sierra Leone and reached Robertsport, Liberia.
One day, Ty met a guy who knows their parents. Ty and Ni found out that their parents knew that slaughter would happen. Still, they left Ty and Ni out to dry. So, the kids took revenge by murdering their parents. Ty and Ni are getting trained to become assassins. A man named Lucius is a trained assassin and he is the mentor of Ty and Ni now.
Plot of the story is interesting. It hooked me to the story and kept me on the edge of my seat. Story is captivating and one wouldn’t feel like putting it down without finishing it. This book is full of action and thriller lovers would enjoy reading it. Language used in the book is lucid and I enjoyed every bit of this story. Go ahead with this book.
