“Bernice, the Busiest of Bees” by Kalee Boisvert is a delightful children’s book centered around Bernice, the hardest-working bee in the meadow. With an ever-growing to-do list, she’s constantly buzzing from one task to another, filling her honeycomb row by row without a moment’s rest.

When the Queen Bee notices Bernice’s nonstop pace, she becomes worried that Bernice is heading straight toward burnout. Everything changes when Bernice suddenly finds a three-day mandatory vacation added to her task list.

This charming story is a must-read for every working adult. It gently reminds readers of the value of taking breaks and the importance of rest, especially for those nearing burnout. Kalee Boisvert’s storytelling is wonderful, and this heartfelt narrative leaves a strong impression. I’m looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.

“The Wind and Amanda’s Cello” by Alison Lohans is a delightful children’s story. Its protagonist, Amanda, is a young girl learning to play the cello. One day, while she is practising, a playful gust of wind slips into her cello, and suddenly the instrument begins to hum along with her music.

Although Amanda’s parents remind her to focus on practising her scales, what comes out of her cello is something entirely different. Even her teacher is puzzled — sometimes Amanda plays wonderfully, and other times the mysterious humming wind leads her into tunes that aren’t even in her book.

To discover what happens as Amanda grows and her cello needs change, you’ll need to dive into the story yourself. The book is beautifully written, with an appealing cover and charming illustrations that instantly capture children’s attention. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it to my little ones.
