I wish I had discovered it earlier in my leadership journey, as it would have helped me manage my emotions and words better. Nonetheless, I have learned immensely and feel more prepared to lead again. I am deeply grateful to the authors for this enlightening work.

“Downeast: This Blessed Assurance” penned by the author Dikkon Eberhart is a captivating read that hooked me from the beginning until the end. The main characters of the story are Percy and his girlfriend Starr Knitter. Percy and Starr have been together for the past six months. 

When Percy and Derek’s mom separated years ago, Percy didn’t think that he would find love again. But, now he is head over heels with Starr. He is waiting to hear yes from her so they can marry soon. One day, Percy came to Derek’s house and told him that he had been shot. When he tried to save Starr who was shot in the hip, he killed a man. 

Vernald is the brother of a man whom Percy shot. Percy wants to help him through his anger. He wants to restore it. This could be dangerous for Percy. Read this story to know what will happen next. Starr is bedridden and wants to be with Percy. Will things work in her favor?

I enjoyed reading this book. The twists and turns in the story kept me on the edge of my seat. The author has done fantastic work in this book. Even though I haven’t read the first book in the series, I was able to follow the story easily. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts.

On The Precipice penned by the author Brianna MacMahon is an intriguing read. It is the first installment in the New Caelus book series. Imperium is a unique planet. New Caelus is a city in Imperium. Everything seemed happier and brighter there. Raelynn is a twenty-three-year old graduate. She has recently graduated from Satias Academy.

Keeper Lord Regent Levin Liston, head of the Diplomacy division in the government wanted her to be his Audilla. However, according to High Justice Caine, Lord Regents cannot mentor Audillas. For Raelynn, working as an intern of Lord Regent Levin Liston is like a dream. Read this story to know what happens next and more about the experiences of Raelynn as she begins her career.

Those who are a fan of science fiction with multiple POVs should get their hands on this book. Since this novel has a sexual description, it is recommended only for adult readers. The language used in the book is lucid and easy to follow. I appreciate the author’s vivid imagination in world building.

This fictionalized memoir-esque introduces us to the author’s experiences with sexual experience and family dysfunction. Capacity is about the author’s love for their dad even though their dad is unaware of how to love some parts of them.

Rage is about the time when the author’s teacher tried to approach them in the school parking lot. They punched him in the face and the author felt as if they had punched their dad.

Secrets is about a session with a therapist and the realization that the person who is trying to help you in your healing journey is the one who has traumatized you.

These stories involve mixed emotions. If you have suffered from a trauma in the past, and still not healed, this book gives hope that there can be strength found in vulnerability. Family dysfunction is not easy to deal with. The stories are gripping and you will crave reading the entire book in a single sitting.

“The Next Great Discovery” penned by the author Katherine Bennett is an interesting read. It is the first installment in the “A Heartland to Hometown Mystery” book series. The main character of the story is Leni Spencer. She works as a reporter for the Hawkinston (Mo.) Daily News. 

One day when Leni was at work, her boss Charlene Drake informed her to reach her uncle’s farm as a death had occurred. When Leni visited her Uncle’s farm and saw the yellow tape, she hadn’t thought that it would be her cousin Tiger Allen. Tiger was stabbed and his throat was cut. Being a journalist, Leni is determined to find out what exactly has happened to her cousin.

Those who enjoy reading murder mystery stories should get their hands on this book. The writing style of the author is nice. This is a gripping story that would keep you on the edge of your seat. You won’t feel like putting this book down without finishing it. Katherine has done great work in this book. I am surely interested in reading more books by her in the future.

🚀 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:
“Deferred Redemptions” by G.E. Russell is an engrossing collection that captivated me from start to finish. This anthology features four stories, each exploring pivotal transformations in the characters’ lives.

“Genetic Anguish” particularly resonated with me, especially if you’ve experienced living with both your father and grandfather. Watching his grandfather pass away was something the narrator wasn’t able to accept. Will he lose another loved one? Such losses leave an irreplaceable void that no other joy can fill.

Another standout is the novella “Somewhere Sister,” which I found equally compelling. Russell’s storytelling prowess shines through, taking readers on an emotional journey through the ups and downs of these narratives. I’m thrilled to have discovered this book.

I highly recommend it to fellow readers.

“Broken Windows, Renovated Souls: Stories of Emergence” penned by the author G E Russell is a collection of novellas and short stories. These stories are gripping and would capture your attention from the first page itself.

‘I Spread Rocks’ is an interesting story about two men. The house owner is a retired man who called the workers to spread rocks. There was one leader who was very hardworking as compared to the other men with him. The house owner was a lawyer once and he was keeping an eye on the team as they were working. Read this story to know if the homeowner will like their work.

‘Mothers and Millstones’ and ‘Neighborhood Watch’ are also interesting stories. These stories are so interesting that you won’t feel like putting this book down. The language used by the author is lucid and I was able to follow it easily. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts. You would have a great time reading it.

Waken, penned by the author Melissa R. Mendelson, is an interesting read. The main character of the story is a man named Gary and his wife Holly. Gary is an attorney at Javin and Henders Associates. Once, Gary told Bill that he was worried because his wife wants kids and he doesn’t want things to be changed right now. 

Bill took him for a drink at Earl’s. There, a stranger came to Gary and told him “Beware the storm. She’s coming for you.” Gary thought it was bullshit but soon he realized that the man was right. Gary has woken up in a new world where he couldn’t find his wife Holly. The office where he works is not his now. Everyone believed him to be dead.

The writing style of the author is nice and the cover photo is well designed. The story is unique and would keep you on the edge of your seat. This book needs to be read with great attention as there are multiple characters with the same names. The author has done a fantastic job in this book.

“Past Lives Denied” penned by the author Ellenmorris Tiegerman is a psychological thriller. The main character of the story is Caitlyn Morrys. She is a talented professor. Caitlyn was having recurrent flashbacks of other times and places. These flashbacks exhausted her and made her question her purpose. Ashford Connor appeared in her dreams too. 

Caitlyn loves her career and is extremely ambitious. Ash and she had seen each other on and off for five years. Caitlyn had a deep and urgent need to prepare for something else but she wasn’t sure. Ash doesn’t believe in the past life of Caitlyn. At the university, Caitlyn leads the committee responsible for determining the tenure of professors. The committee is facing challenges from Uzinski as his plan is to bring in and tenure only professors he selects for Coronado.

When the president Uzinski was dead, there was so much chaos. Was he murdered? How would Caitlyn’s be affected with the Past Life Theory? Read this psychological thriller that would keep you on the edge of your seat. The cover photo is nice and the title is suitable. The writing style of the author is nice and I am impressed with the backdrop setting. The characters are written well and I loved Caitlyn’s character the most.

“A Kiss and a Dare” penned by the author Charlene Raddon is a Contemporary Fantasy Romance. The main character of the story is Garen McTaggart. He didn’t wish to be the king but he wanted to own the castle. Gareth now lives in North Wales and he has to finish the reconstruction on time to avoid losing the castle. Garen will soon be married to his fiancée Leeza. However, Leeza didn’t want to get married. 

Gwenlyn Brychan was cursed by a witch and she became a frog. It has been seven centuries since anyone entered the secret garden. There is a spell on the garden that prevents any but her half soul from entering. To regain her body, Gwenlyn has to kiss her past lover. When Garen woke up from unconsciousness, he saw a beautiful woman in front of him and had a strong urge to kiss her. Soon, he realized that she is not Leeza. 

After becoming a woman from a frog, Gwenlyn must win Cynan’s love and a proposal of matrimony, otherwise she, Delyth, and Nigel would suffer dire consequences. Read this novel to know what will happen next. The story is gripping and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The cover photo is nice and the title is suitable. The story is well paced and I loved every bit of it. Looking forward to reading more books by the author.
