Stockboy Nation by the author Thomas Duffy will take you on a journey of mixed emotions. Protagonist of the story is a forty years old guy Phillip Doherty. He has moved to California from New York. He is living with his fiancee Melissa. After the failure of his second book, life became hard for Phillip. He gave several interviews but weren’t successful in them.

His fiancee Melissa was losing her temper day by day as she is the only one to pay all the bills now. She even threatened Phillip that she will give an engagement ring back to him. He finally got a job at Milton’s World of Fun in San Diego. Grab a copy of this exciting story and read it yourself to know will Phillip and Melissa relationship work?

Story is intriguing and right from the first page it caught my attention. This book made me laugh, serious, worried thinking about what gonna happen next. When Phillip went for the interview at Fashion Chances and the top portion of the mannequin fell, I laughed out loud. I could totally relate to Phillip’s character as weird things happened with me too in a job interviews.

Finding a good job isn’t that easy. I could totally understand Melissa’s frustration as well when Phillip wasn’t bringing any paycheck at home. Writing style of Thomas is mind blowing and this book really won my heart.

Potter’s Field Blues by the author Michael Tyree is a collection of short stories. My favourite among them is the title story “Potter’s Field Blues”. Protagonist of the story is Monica. She is a prostitute. She was standing on 114th street when the Lincoln Town Car came. Other girls ran towards the car in the hope to earn money. When mystery man’s eyes from the car fell on Monica, he decided to take her to the town party. He showed a wad of five thousand bucks to Monica and she agreed to go with him for the night.

When they reached their destination, Monica was impressed with the rich dresses presented to her. She recognized rich faces among the crowd. Monica is at the most elegant party but she is still not happy. She is afraid thinking about her dead friend. When Monica entered the ballroom, soon things went wrong. Who is this mystery man? What will happen at the party?

Cover of the book looks simple. The story in the beginning (just first few pages) reminded me of the movie Pretty Woman. Story plot is nicely written. It is unique, full of horror and mystery. World building is amazing and I found the stories as captivating. Writing style of Michael is impressive. I really liked Monica’s character. Narration is so strong that I felt like I am watching a horror movie. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to read more work of Michael.

If you love reading dark horror stories then go ahead with this one.

Our Paused World is a poetry book by the author or poet Oskar Leonard. Collection of poems in this book are inspired by little important things like daily dog walks, books, life outside the bedroom window, etc. Oskar came up with this poetry collection during the lockdown time that we have spent inside our homes.

Ink, My Dear Miserable Sky and dance are some of the poems that I liked the most from the book. These poems are based on things from our day to day life. Illustrations could have been better. However, I liked the title of the book very much. I couldn’t think of any other title that is more suitable than this one. Cover photo is nice. Poems are written in an easy language so even beginners can enjoy this book.

This is a short book to read with poems based on different topics. These poems will give hope to readers during this time of pandemic. One could enjoy these poems with a cup of tea/coffee. It a light hearted poetry book.

This is the first book that I have read by Oskar and I am definitely interested in reading more books by him.

I really appreciate her great work. This is a very helpful book and a perfect guide that will help parents in parenting of kids with anxiety.

This book is rich in knowledge. Cover photo is decent and title is apt. Since anxiety is common these days, so this is a much needed book that parents should read. I have got so many tips from this book that will help me in the future. Pick this guide right away and take right steps to deal with childhood anxiety.

Laetitia is a spoiled princess who doesn’t listen to her parents, disrespect others, etc. She doesn’t have the qualities to become a Queen in future. It’s Laetitia’s seventeenth nameday. Her parents want her to marry but she doesn’t need any man thinking she is strong and intelligent herself.

Laetitia wants to be a queen. Her parents has four suitors for her – a philosopher, an astronomer, an artist and a necromancer. She has to learn the skills from these four suitors. If she masters one craft equal to her suitor, then that suitor will be her husband. As the story progresses, Laetitia got involved in finding more about the disease that is affecting peasants causing their death. Will Sir Blaxton and Laetitia be able to figure out what is going wrong with the peasants?

This is the first novel that I have read by Sophie. Plot of the story is unique and much intriguing. I found this book as unputdownable. There is much development in the character of Laetitia. From a spoiled child, she turned to be a curious one who wants to help peasants and save them. Language of the book is easy to understand. Cover page is very interesting and is according to the story content. I enjoyed this novel a lot. I am looking forward to read more books by the author Sophie.

The main character of the story is Jeremy Rice. He loves to play basketball. He is a great athlete with excellent physical characteristics. Like other boys, Jeremy dreams to make it to NBA one day.

He practice in the basketball courts in summer and winter breaks to improve his skills. Jeremy’s neighbor and his best friend Evan very well knew what Basketball is for Jeremy. Even Jeremy’s parents support him in making a career in basketball. Jeremy and Evans are getting trained by the tough and strict Coach Donaldson. But with Jeremy’s medical condition coming in the way of his career will he ever be able to fulfill his dreams?

This story of life and basketball is mind blowing. The book is written in a simple language but it is full of sports spirit. Brad has very well penned down the character of Jeremy. I could very well connect to him and his feelings for basketball. Cover of the book is nice. It is a quick read. Story’s narration is so smooth that you won’t feel like putting it down in the middle.

In Plain Sight by the author R.M. Breslin is a mystery novel. Protagonist of the story is a twenty four years old girl Nicola Evans. Story starts when she woke up in the hospital.

Two detectives are there for the investigation. Nicola’s neighbor Mrs Polkin has observed a stranger outside her parents property multiple times so she informed the police. When the police reached there, Nicola’s parents were found murdered and Nicola was not in conscious state. She wasn’t assaulted by that stranger but she doesn’t remember anything initially.

At the hospital she met George, a nurse who is looking after her. Nicola developed a bond with George. She wanted to trust him but whatever has happened with her and her family made her not to trust anyone until the killer is found. After being discharged from the hospital, Nicola stayed alone at her old friend’s apartment.

She started working with Detective Braum to figure out the murderer of her parents. Story is full of suspense. Writing style is smooth and the language is easy so beginners can also enjoy this book. Cover photo of the book feels so real. Ending of the book is amazing. The story and the world building is amazing that I couldn’t put this book down. One can read it in a single sitting. If you love reading crime fiction/mystery novels then go ahead with this one.

The Sea by the author Sophie Jupillat Posey is a novella. It is written in two parts. Protagonist of the story is Amos. He has nightmares that follow the same pattern. In his dream, he is at the seashore, the sea is raging and wants to
kill the human race. He wakes up drenched in water that is not the pee but it smells like the ocean. As the story progresses, Amos learnt that he is not the only one who is getting such nightmares.

This story is a wake-up call for us. We shouldn’t destroy important resources of Earth. Think what gonna happen when the nature will start taking revenge from humanity. Language of the book is simple. The storyline is unique and being a novella one could finish it in a single sitting. I liked the plot although I was looking for more from this story. Amos character is well penned down by Sophie. Cover photo of this novella is surely eye catchy and title is suitable. I liked the overall concept of this book and I recommend it to my fellow readers for a quick read.

Animal Instincts: The Urban Jungle by the author S.L Jackson is a collection of stories based on the lives of animals in an urban underworld jungle. It is the first novella by the author. The story is about the Jackson rabbits and it involves Poppa, Mama, Leaps and Jumps. Leaps is an elder one by only a minute so they are twins. The place where Jackson rabbits family has settled is not at all safe. It is a 24 hour world of crime. Poppa Jackson is the fastest rabbit on the land.

Story also has a dove named Blac who is a good friend of Poppa. Blac looks after the twins when they are away from their Mama and Poppa. Read this interesting story set in the urban jungle to know what all adventures are there. Since it’s a novella, I won’t reveal much about the story. Find out yourself.

The story is penned down in 75 pages that one can enjoy in a single sitting. Writing style of Jackson is nice. I love reading novellas and this one is a unique story. Even if you are not a reader who reads stories about animals, I would recommend this one strongly to you. I am sure it will not fail to impress you. This book reminded me of my childhood when I used to watch Mowgli stories set in the jungle.

I am definitely looking for more and curious to read more stories by Jackson in the future.

After her mother’s death, she had to take care of her little brothers Andrew and Mike. Her father is not much responsible and interested in their upbringing.

Connelly family received the message from International Elite Academy that they are glad to get an opportunity to work with Andrew and an elite cadet will meet him after school. But Kate got a bad instinct about this organization. Grab a copy of this book and read the story yourself to unveil the suspense.

Language of the book is lucid. Storyline is super interesting. It captured all my attention and I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Cover of the book is very attractive and title is apt. Author has done great work in her debut novel. I am very much interested in reading the sequel of this book. What an amazing plot setting, totally loved it.
