Elior and his twin brother, Eliam, work as search and rescue operatives. On their very first day, a major disaster strikes. They must save as many people as possible before the research facility collapses. Together, Elior and Eliam manage to pull several unconscious researchers out until the building is cleared. But when Eliam hears a faint cry for help from inside, he rushes back in despite Elior’s warning to stay out.

Moments later, an explosion reduces the site to an empty plot of land. Detective Jones questions Elior about Eliam’s appearance, suggesting that the magitechnology involved may have transported the entire building—and everyone inside it—elsewhere. When Elior learns that the official search will be called off, he is devastated. At his lowest point, he encounters Nyx, a cursed merman, who tells him about the mysterious Well of Eternity.

Meanwhile, Princess Opal is forced onto the throne earlier than expected after her father’s sudden death. When Elior, Nyx, and Opal’s paths intertwine, the story gains momentum. The author’s world-building is immersive, and the many subplots are handled skillfully. I look forward to reading more from this writer. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts.

For the past four years, his assignment has been to monitor three individuals—briefly, each day—without ever knowing the reason behind it. His boss, John Dorgan, never revealed the purpose of this task.

Things take a darker turn when one of the subjects, Michael Ray Michtenbaum, is discovered dead. Jeremy is then reassigned to monitor his own boss, John Dorgan. To aid him, he can request resources through the Secretary of Homeland Security or her assistant, Heather Barnes.

Heather, the Secretary’s Executive Assistant, has her own ties to the intelligence world. Her father, Jacob Barnes, once worked for the CIA’s Intelligence Division, and she suspects he is involved in the mysterious experiment. Determined to uncover the truth, Heather is eager to learn what her father has been keeping from her.

This suspense thriller delivers plenty of intrigue, twists, and unexpected turns. The writing is richly descriptive, the plot is fast-paced, and the numerous characters add depth and complexity to the story. It’s a gripping read that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Rune of Revenge by Bjorn Leesson is the fourth installment in the Outside the Thalsparr series. The story opens with Ingrid Stone-Splitter forced to witness the bodies of her dearest friend, Myrgjol the Dokkrsdottir, and Myrgjol’s daughter Hildr, tossed carelessly into a pile.

Now in her late fifties, Ingrid longs to continue pursuing the peaceful life envisioned by Myrgjol—both for herself and in honor of her fallen friend. She is stunned to discover Myrgjol’s son, Hralf. Memories surface of her father, Harald, who once ruled Dyrhagi as Jarl alongside his brother Orin. Their lives changed when Halvar, a man from another part of Scandinavia, arrived—bringing with him an unsettling darkness that spread through their village. Harald was slain by unknown assailants, Orin was left blinded and crippled, and Halvar seized the throne.

Determined to find her own path, Ingrid considers traveling north. Her plan is to blend in with the Vikings and secure passage elsewhere. Hralf shares with her a striking revelation: on his deathbed, Brother Bildwyne spoke of Myrgjol living in another place and another time.

Leesson’s writing style is clear and engaging, making this book a joy to read. Ingrid’s character is beautifully developed, and the storyline kept me hooked from beginning to end. I am eager to see where the series goes next.

Babe’s life shifted dramatically—from feeling empty and purposeless to being caught up in one dramatic event after another. Trinity, however, is firm: she doesn’t want Babe bringing home any more children.

Lachlan Taylor had just graduated, and her father gifted her a celebratory week at the Isla Bella Resort in the Florida Keys. She was joined by her friend Chandler, who unfortunately had a knack for causing trouble and attracting danger with her reckless behavior.

When Lachlan’s family didn’t hear from her for two days during the trip, her uncle Jarvis grew deeply concerned about his niece. As night fell, Lachlan and Chandler found themselves lost at sea. Thankfully, with Babe’s help, Javier was able to bring Lachlan home safely. Still, many wondered how Lachlan could remain friends with someone like Chandler. Her worries only grew when Chandler disappeared with a man from the resort’s front desk.

The story truly gained momentum once children began going missing. The author’s descriptive style and smooth narration kept the tension high while introducing us to even more engaging characters. Through it all, Babe stood out as my favorite character in the series. The author has done a remarkable job—this series is well worth continuing without hesitation.

The Impenetrable Lie by Corinne Arrowood marks the sixth installment in the series. At its heart is a boy named Reg. Babe, eager to uncover more about his family, learns that Reg claims to be the son of Elizabeth and David Eglin. Yet, when Babe digs deeper into David’s past, he discovers that the family supposedly perished in an accident—except for Reg’s aunt, Elloise Eglin Dupont. Curiously, no reports ever mentioned Reg.

Meanwhile, Trinity struggles to walk again after a brutal, life-threatening beating. As Babe pieces together the truth behind Reg’s past, he finds himself compelled to set certain wrongs right. The sudden appearance of a serial killer intensifies the plot, weaving in fresh layers of suspense and unanswered questions.

The novel’s sharp twists and turns keep readers engaged throughout. Its striking cover and fitting title complement the narrative, while the backdrop is skillfully crafted. With multiple subplots deftly interwoven, Corinne Arrowood once again demonstrates her ability to balance complexity with intrigue.

The Impostor Lie by Corinne Arrowood is an intense read from beginning to end. The story follows Babe and Trinity, with Chancée making a striking presence. At eight pounds eleven ounces, Chancée is a big baby for tiny Trinity. Trinity has no memory of her past life. Babe often visits the hospital to spend time with Chancée.

Trinity remembers fragments, and for what she cannot recall, Babe steps in to fill the gaps. Yet, this is painful for him—this Trinity is not the woman he once fell in love with. She doesn’t know about Babe’s boys and even calls him Vic instead of Babe. The weight of this change takes its toll on him. Still, he remains steadfast, holding true to his vow to stand by Trinity in sickness and in health, until death separates them.

The storyline kept me hooked throughout. It was wonderful to meet Babe again in this book. Corinne Arrowood’s stories always leave a lasting impression, with her characters staying in my thoughts long after the final page. I’m already eager to get my hands on the next installment in this series.

“Hello, I Am Here” by Candace MacPhie is the third book in the Back in a Year series. We follow Candace once again on her travels, accompanied by her trusty purple backpack, Barney. Her complicated past with Josh resurfaces when she runs into him in Prague—her mind may have moved on, but her heart clearly hadn’t.

In Budapest, Candace meets Lyndsay from Seattle, and the two quickly bond over laughter and good times. Candace’s around-the-world ticket stops in LA. In Prague, Czech Republic, Josh confesses he wants to be with her—yet admits he doesn’t love her. Despite the heavy moment, they continue traveling together, even sharing a quirky breakfast at Tatiana’s Erotica strip club.

The stories of her adventures across Munich, Amman, Cairo, etc stirred my own wanderlust, making me want to pack a backpack and set off abroad.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Candace’s courage to step away from a conventional life, purchase an around-the-world ticket, and fully embrace new places and connections is truly inspiring. Her vibrant experiences and heartfelt encounters make this an exceptional and memorable read.

“My Name Is Death” by Laura Daleo is an engrossing read that offers a refreshing take on the grim reaper. In this story, Death wears Armani suits, ties, and polished shoes, yet longs for a break from his eternal duty. His escape takes him to New Orleans, where he encounters Annalise—a terminally ill young woman dressed in a hospital gown.

Moved by her suffering, Death temporarily lifts her illness. Annalise, in turn, candidly points out that she needs to work on improving his communication skills. As their unlikely friendship blossoms, Death confides his true identity to her. Having spent much of her life in and out of hospitals, Annalise makes a heartfelt request: she asks Death to finally free her soul. What role will he play in ensuring she experiences joy in her final days?

The backdrop of New Orleans adds richness to the narrative, while Death’s character is sharply and thoughtfully crafted. The plot is compelling, keeping me eagerly turning the pages to see what unfolds. If you’re looking for a unique and captivating story, this book is well worth your time—pick it up without hesitation.

Soon, a dark presence begins to loom, and Ember’s loved ones, including Ari, grow worried for her safety. When Ember suddenly loses consciousness, she awakens in an unfamiliar realm where she is cared for by a kind man named Tyrus McKendry.

Meanwhile, Ari is frantic in his search for Ember, and suspicion falls on Addley. But what truly happened? And will Ember ever remember who she really is?

I thoroughly enjoyed binge-reading this book over the weekend. Linda Phillips’s descriptive writing style makes the story vivid, and Ember’s character is instantly endearing. The pacing is excellent, the cover art is beautiful, and I loved every moment of the journey.

The insights shared offer both practical tools and a deeper understanding to help readers release limiting beliefs, reconnect with nature’s wisdom, and harness our collective power to heal and co-create a world that uplifts everyone.

Through Penny’s chapter, Gail encourages us to embrace change, question assumptions, and take small, consistent steps toward a healthier and more conscious way of living. Steven’s chapter highlights the importance of not outsourcing our health, reminding us that we are far more capable than we’ve been led to believe. This chapter personally inspired me to dig deeper into the root cause of my frequent headaches.

Healing, as the book emphasizes, is a journey that requires courage, experimentation, and trust in our inner wisdom. The perspectives on health, purpose, power, and sovereignty make this work truly impactful.

Overall, this book provides readers with the tools to navigate uncertainty, reclaim their inner authority, and reconnect with the deeper reasons for our existence. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it—it’s a powerful, thought-provoking work that I wholeheartedly recommend.
