“Organic eMotions: Poetry for hUmaNITY” is the first poetry book that I have read penned by Lali A Love. This book is a collection of poems. Some of my favorites from the collection are: Transforming Reality, Limiting Beliefs, Forgiveness, etc.

I really loved the lines below from the poem Acceptance.

There is glory in loving our shadows,
Without shame or avoiding our wallows.
We are swift at pointing the finger game,
Judging others while delegating blame.
Love is the glue that binds us together,
Taking charge of ourselves, not another.
We accept our mortality just as we are,
Embracing the flaws of our luminous star.
There’s also beauty in loving our light,
A true alchemist transforms both with might.

This book is full of different emotions. The language used in the poems is simple so if you aren’t an avid poetry reader, still you would be able to understand these poems easily. Poetry fans couldn’t miss to get their hands on this amazing collection.

Rating: 5/5

“This is Me: No Darkness Too Deep” is a must read story of Fiona Myles. This is the real story of Fiona. Through this book readers will get to know how Fiona encountered one setback after the another.

This book is written in 71 pages and could be finished in a single sitting. Fiona was born in Scotland to Margaret Kirkpatrick. Her mother had another daughter called Dorothy. Fiona and Dorothy were daughters of Roy Nesbitt who was married so he couldn’t support Margaret and his daughters. Fiona lived with relatives initially but was then given into social care for adoption.

A couple Patsy and Bobby Cochrane were looking to adopt a child so they took Fiona into their family. As a child, Fiona moved to a lot of new places. Once, at the age of 12, she didn’t like the new house into which they moved. She even mentioned going to a psychiatrist. Until the age of 18, Fiona was given diazepam by mixing it in her dinner. Her marriage to Simon lasted for two years as he was a drinker and used to take out his frustration on Fiona.

Written in lucid language, this story of Fiona is a must read. There were many dark moments in Fiona’s life but she is strong enough to survive those challenging situations. This story will bring hope to many people who are victims of something. With God, everything is possible. Get to know how God brought a change in Fiona’s life. Looking forward to reading the next book by the author.

Jon B: Are You Still Down? is a non-fiction book penned by the author Dominique Carson. This book sheds light on the male artist Jon B. At the age of five, Dominique was amazed with Jon B’s voice and musical composition. In the 90’s Jon B gained much popularity. In 2009, Dominique attended first Jon B’s concert in New York.

Dominique was glad to get a chance to interview Jon B. All thanks to her journalism career. It was amazing to read how Jon B didn’t give up on his musical dreams. Jonathan David Buck or Jon B was from a musical family. At the age of 19, Jon signed his first recording and publishing contract.

It is very natural to think that a person is talented and therefore successful but nobody sees the hard work one puts behind it. The way Dominique has introduced Jon B to the readers is highly appreciated. I enjoyed reading this biography of Jon B. Reading about a man of music is an honor for me. I hope you miss me
I hope you miss me in the way that you miss the June sun in December
I hope you ruminate over me
I hope you ruminate over me the way you ruminate over April showers in July
I hope you need me
I hope you need me in the way that you need the moon to light the dark
I hope you dream of me
I hope you dream of me in the way that you dream of love in February

Some of my favorite poems from the collection are: I Promise To Try, I Hope You Cry, Abstract, etc. Being an overthinker, I related very well to the poem ‘Thoughtful Rambles’.
