Surviving a Miracle

๐Ÿš€ ๐‘๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ:
Surviving A Miracle,ย penned by author Dr. Richard Greenberg, is the true story of his familyโ€™s involvement in a flash flood along the Nฤ Pali Coast of Kauaสปi. Richโ€™s family is made up of five members, including his wife Carrie, his three children (Zachary age 12, Samantha age 9, and Marla age 3), and himself.ย

The Greenberg family, accompanied by a close family friend Steve, were hiking to see Hanakapiโ€˜ai Falls along the north shore of Kauai. To reach the falls, the eight-mile round trip trail traverses a stream several times. The forecast called for clear sunny skies. However, upon reaching the falls, the Greenbergs found that the weather had suddenly begun to change. The wind began to blow fierce sheets of water at them. They quickly turned around and started the hike back. While traversing the first stream crossing on the way back down, Zach slipped on a rock and was swept away by the now-raging water. Rich, who was carrying Marla in a backpack carrier, attempted to grab Zachโ€™s hand and they were also forced to brave the now fierce river.

With the help of several brave strangers, Rich and Marla were able to get out of the flooded river alive. Miraculously, Zach was able to make it out of the water as well but was now stranded on a tiny ledge 40 feet across the powerful currents. As the storm continued to move downstream, the rain became a torrential downpour. As the river was rising, Zach was in an ever-increasingly treacherous situation. Read the book to find out what happened to Zach.

This book serves as a testimony to the presence of God and the fact that He listens and answers prayers. The kindness of several strangers who came to the aid of this family in need touched my heart and motivated me to want to serve others more fully. This story is living proof that miracles truly do happen in our lives today. This book has strengthened my faith in God and has given me hope to be able to face the difficult challenges that life presents to us.

The book was well paced with increasing moments of intensity and suspense. I could not put the book down until I finished reading the entire story. I had to know what happened to Zach. I highly recommend reading this story. This memoir will be especially enjoyable to those seeking to find a story that can increase their faith in overcoming lifeโ€™s challenges.

I have a penchant for stories steeped in family dynamics, and Keziaโ€™s book โ€œKintsugiโ€ was no exception. This gripping narrative follows Kez, a young Brazilian woman who has carved out a successful life in the corporate world of Frankfurt, Germany, leaving behind the family conflicts in Brazil.

However, Kez’s carefully constructed world unravels when she receives devastating news from her aunt: her mother has passed away, and her father is critically ill. Overwhelmed by the unexpected blow, Kez spirals into a panic attack, but her friend and manager, Max, steps in to comfort her. When Kez was twelve years old, she told her dad that she would live abroad and now it’s her reality. She dreaded going back home where her nosy relatives were waiting for her. The thought of facing her intrusive relatives feels more like entering a cage than going home, a sentiment she confides in Max during their journey.

Keziaโ€™s writing is powerful and unflinchingly honest, resonating deeply with anyone who has dealt with a difficult family background. The story is compelling from start to finish, with no dull moments. I particularly admired how Kez turned her childhood dream of living abroad into reality.

Two strangers Bonnie and Clyde found themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They woke up on a strange boat and didn’t remember their name, past, how they ended up on this boat, etc. Both Clyde and Bonnie had a body different from their face. Their bodies looked as if they were in their twenties. However, their faces are old.

According to the computers on the boat, it is the year 2065. They found out that there is an island nearby. Allison Denham, daughter of Professor Reginald Denham told Clyde and Bonnie about the vaccine that proved to be more dangerous than the pandemic virus. 80% of the Earth’s population was wiped out because of the airborne pathogen. The UN started hunting for the leftover people to find a cure. Professor Denham came aboard their boat.

Read this story to know what Professor Denham would do. The writing style of the author is nice. The plot is gripping. I loved the interesting world building by the author. Greg’s imagination is vivid. I had a great time reading this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Go ahead with it without any second thoughts.

“Shadows of the Past” penned by the author Lee Alexander is an interesting read. The main characters of the story are Damien, a Demon Slayer and Vivian Ambrose, a healer. It is 1835, London. Damien visited one of his clientโ€™s homes. He asked his client Vicar Thomas not to step in the house unless instructed to do so.ย

As Damien started hunting the demon, he realized that the demon is not a friend of Christian. When the demon was agitated, he attacked Damien’s arms with his claws. Once the cross struck in the demon’s chest, he dissolved in his own plane of existence. Damien receives good payments from his client for what he does. Read this story to know what will happen when Damien starts digging about Noctherion after the recent encounter.

The story is interesting and it kept me hooked till the last page. The cover photo is nice and the title is suitable. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat. The language used in this book by the author is lucid. I had a great time reading it. Those who enjoy reading stories involving demon hunters should add this book to their bookshelf.

Interview with author Lee Alexander

Q1. Hello, can you please introduce yourself? Readers would love to know more about you.

A1. I am from Louisville, KY and now live in Virginia Beach, VA with my wife and four children. Most of my children are adults now and one still in high school. I’m a veteran of thr US military and work full time as an IT professional contractor with the US military. D&D, dark fantasy, horror movies, and odd history are things I enjoy.

Q2. What were the key challenges you faced while writing your book “Shadows of the Past”?

A2. I write my books with pen and paper, so one challenge is when I begin to type them out I have to decipher my own handwriting. Also, I tend to have a lot of ideas for the next book while writing and have to refocus myself on the current book.

Q3. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

A3. Edgar Allan Poe, Topher Metcalf, and Stephen King

Q4. Whatโ€™s your favourite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?

A4. Louisville, KY. It is home and no matter how far I traveledor how long I have been gone, my foundation is always there. A specialspot in Louisvilleis Zachary Taylor cemetery. I grew up playing in the cemetery and had a lot of supernatural experiences there.

Q5. What inspired you to write the book ‘Shadows of the Past’?

A5. I was actually working on a D&D based novel and was stuck at one point. The idea of Damien came to me as I sort of see myself, not a demon slayer, but with inner demons to battle.

Q6. How long did it take you to write your book ‘Shadows of the Past’?

A6. From pen to paper and typed out it was about ten months. Hopefully book two is quicker.

Q7. On what platforms can readers buy your books?

A7. Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and it is coming to Target and Apple. It should be available world wide on mist platforms soon.

Q8. Tell us about the process of coming up with the book cover and the title ‘Shadows of the Past’?

A8. I wanted something simple and defining of the book. I came up with a basic idea and my editor, Em , helped with some ideas also. We had three ideas and I asked my familyand close friends to tell me thier favorite, which matched my favorite, so Damien with hos back to us made Sadows of the Past feel like it was behind him.

Q9. When writing a book how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

A9. I do whatever I can took keep the story moving and introduce new characters and leave small openings for the characters to reveal more about themselves as I go.

Q10. What is the most valuable piece of advice youโ€™ve been given about writing?

A10. My friend and mentor, Chris M., told me my opening paragraph sucked the first time he read my writing. He explained the old used up, it was a dark amd stormy night, type of writing was not what people wanted anymore. Make that opening paint a picture of the story not just the scene. I have taken that to heart and appreciate his bluntness very much.

Interview with author Lucas DeAndreis

Q1. Hello, can you please introduce yourself? Readers would love to know more about you.

A1. I was born in San Mateo, California in 1996. Growing up, surprisingly, I wasnโ€™t the biggest writer or reader. In fact, It was my worst subject. My mother would put me in extra reading classes in elementary school every year in hopes of getting me interested but it just wasnโ€™t clicking. I only liked sports, especially soccer, which was my passion during childhood. It wasnโ€™t until my mother bought me the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan for Christmas one year before things began to turn. And that created the domino effect for getting me interested in other books and authors.

Q2. What were the key challenges you faced while writing your book “Light Of The Mortal God”?

A2. One of the challenges I faced was the constant changing in story from when I created the idea of the novel. At first I thought it would just be a simple dystopian science fiction novel. And then more and more as I got into it the path of the story and the depth of the characters kept changing that I had to rewrite it a few times. But once I finally got it right, it is without a doubt my favorite book out of all the stories Iโ€™ve written.

Q3. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

A3. Growing up I was a huge fan of the Percy Jackson novels by Rick Riordan. He created a really compelling character that I related with plus the world building from start to finish was second to none. Tolkienโ€™s Lord of the Rings is another series that is so immersive and jaw dropping for me. The sheer scope of the story he created is incredible. Iโ€™m also an avid manga and comic book reader. Akira Toriyamaโ€™s Dragon Ball is something I probably read every other year. I definitely have been influenced by these authorโ€™s world building techniques and likeable characters that are full with personality. I think thatโ€™s the main ingredient to delivering a compelling novel. Interesting worlds that get more vast and complex, interesting and likeable characters with personality, and an engaging plot that doesnโ€™t stop.

Q4. Whatโ€™s your favourite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?

A4. My favorite spot to visit is probably Los Angeles. I love Disney Land and have been so many times. Itโ€™s special just cause of the all stories I grew up with being live and all around you. Itโ€™s something to admire that one studio could create so many ingenious stories and to keep going till this day.

Q5. What inspired you to write the book ‘Light Of The Mortal God’?

A5. Before writing novels, I was actually writing screenplays. Iโ€™m a big film fanatic and so I wrote a few scripts which I would do on my free time after school. One day my mom said why do you only write screenplays and why donโ€™t you write a novel too and just threw that idea out there. I hadnโ€™t thought about it but I actually took a script idea that I was going to write for a screenplay and adapted that idea and that became the basis for my novel โ€˜โ€™Light Of The Mortal Godโ€™โ€™.

Q6. How long did it take you to write your book ‘Light Of The Mortal God’?

A6. It took me almost 2 years. I had to juggle school and it was hard to stay consistent. But over time I finished and it was such a good feeling.

Q7. On what platforms can readers buy your books?

A7. Readers can buy it on many different platforms but Amazon is the one I recommend.

Q8. Tell us about the process of coming up with the book cover and the title ‘Light Of The Mortal God’?

A8. Towards the beginning of the book a tragic event happens that sets the main character, Roy, on a path so terrible from his former life. Roy gets taken from his mother arms and has to live with the convicts on Pluto. But, one day everything changed, he meets a friend. A creature of mystery who’s feared by everyone except Roy, who finds the goodness in him. I wanted to showcase this scene that sticks out which sets up the rest of the story. Light of the Mortal God, without spoiling too much, refers to Roy, from not only his divine past but mainly the light and goodness from his heart that separates him from any immortal God.

Q9. When writing a book how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

A9. Iโ€™m someone that gets bored really easily so I need a lot of interesting things to happen. So thatโ€™s one of my techniques is to always have a compelling plot point happening to move the story at a brisk pace. Pacing is key in stories. But not only that, the main thing is the characters. If one makes great characters readers donโ€™t care what happens really. Harry Potter can go on for 7 books and 8 movies because we love the characters so much, they can be doing anything and weโ€™ll still tune in for the next book or movie. Thatโ€™s my strategy. Great characters with personality and engaging plot ideas.

Q10. What is the most valuable piece of advice youโ€™ve been given about writing?

A10. To just learn the craft and keep writing. I remember my first screenplay I sent into a big Hollywood contest. I paid for judge feedback and surprisingly the script was in the top 10% of scores. The script was a mess though and not formatted right and I had no idea what I was doing but the judge gave me some great advice that even though youโ€™re talented you need to learn the technical aspects of writing. Being a great writer isnโ€™t just having a great idea but there are rules and you need to understand these rules and grow. So that was a big piece of advice I received.

“Love Letters to the Virgin Mary” penned by David Richards is a gripping read. The story features David who was certain about God’s existence from a young age. He thought to realize love in the eyes of a woman. David’s journey to seek this woman started. During a pandemic, he saw a woman’s post on Instagram and he felt as if he had seen the picture before.

In the summer of 2020, the narrator came to a realization of how he lost himself looking for that woman. He held himself responsible for broken relationships, failed marriages, infidelity, etc. Over the years, God started to become a myth. How would the narrator find his way back to God?

Those who enjoy reading books based on topics like war, faith, Christianity, soldier’s lives, etc should get their hands on this book. The cover photo is nice and the title is suitable. This book is for avid readers only. There are many lessons for the readers in this book. It was worth my time.

“A Brush with Death” penned by the author Jody Summers is a thriller set in New Orleans. The main character of the story is Kira. She’d been painting since age six. She is now working on her new business, Canvas of Life. She mixes her paints with cremains, the ashes of the dead.

Kira began her mother’s painting from her ashes. Soon, she started having nightmares. When Kira worked on her first painting for the real commission, she was nervous. One day, Kira received a call from a client named Sean Easton. Sean’s father passed away and Sean has his ashes. He saw Kira’s ad in the newspaper and wanted her to create something to remember his dad by. As Kira started working on figuring out what the subject of the painting was going to be, she realized that she was painting the portrait of a serial killer. Kira started having nightmares filled with blood and murder. What will happen when the evil in her painting wants to kill her?

This is a story with a unique plot. The story is well paced and I loved every bit of it. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed reading how Kira’s painting was creating evil. The writing style of the author is nice. Kira’s character is my favorite and this story will stay in my mind for a long time. I am looking forward to reading more books by the author.
