Fractured Mosaic by author Sabarna Roy

Book: Fractured Mosaic

Author: Sabarna Roy

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

Fractured Mosaic is the first book that I have read penned by the author Sabarna Roy. This book is a collection of poems, journal entries and musings of an author. The musings ranges from political, crazy to wildly scattered musings. One of my favourite musing from the collection is below:

“My younger self saw her for the first time on a train. Immediately I conjured a life with her, made a home with her, and filled it with our love. I chased her for years until I knew that she was a happy mother of two bonny sons. She would not give me any attention, for she had a secret lover too.”

One would be easily able to relate to the content of this book as we might have been in the similar situation at some point in our life. This is a thought provoking read and insightful too. Since the content of different chapters is not related, one could read this book randomly from anywhere.

Length of the book is short and one could read it in a single sitting. Language of the book is lucid and I was easily able to follow. Pace of the book is medium. If you are a beginner and would like to give a try to reading musings then go ahead with this book.

The Adventures Of Annabelle: Annabelle And Her First Garden by author Judy Pernice

Book: The Adventures Of Annabelle: Annabelle And Her First Garden

Author: Judy Pernice

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

I recently read the Children’s Book “The Adventures of Annabelle: Annabelle and Her First Garden”. This is a beautifully written story that teaches the lesson of compassion and sharing to little readers. This Spring, Annabelle’s mom guided her to plant her own garden. Annabelle planted different seeds that will grow into her favorite vegetables. She wasn’t clear why her mom made it sound like gardening isn’t that easy. Annabelle has to water the garden everyday now so the seeds could grow well. But will Annabelle be able to do it regularly?

This story book is full of pretty illustrations that will catch kid’s attention right away. It will also inspire little readers to try their hand at gardening. This story is full of fun and beautiful lesson. It will be amazing if this book is read aloud in class so more and more students could learn the beautiful lesson that is given by this book. It’s a worth reading story and I am sure that everyone will love it.

Crucible of Fear by author D.W. Whitlock

Book: Crucible of Fear

Author: D.W. Whitlock

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

Crucible of Fear is a nail-biting and unputdownable thriller by Whitlock. Protagonist of the story is Dante Ellis. He is a single father to his daughter Abigail. Life was going fine and one day it turned upside down. Dante became the target of ruthless hacker Dark Messiah. Dante who is unaware what is the motive of perpetrator kept on wondering about stuffs. But Dante soon has to take a step as his daughter’s life is in danger now.

The faceless antagonist seems evil. Plot keeps on moving between Dante and Dark Messiah. However story has some subplots as well. Whitlock has done great development with characters. Dante Ellis character is my favorite from the story. This novels sheds a light on the disadvantages of living in a high technology world where becoming a victim of cyber crime is very easy. Pace of the story is fine. It wasn’t too slow or too rushed. Narration is smooth. This book is recommended for avid readers.

P.I. Diaries by author Joseph Mullen

Book: P.I. Diaries

Author: Joseph Mullen

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

P.I. Diaries is a surveillance diary of the big city life and notorious cases of the New York City Private Investigator Joe Mullen. This book introduces readers to the work of Bronx-born Joseph Mullen. During his career, Joseph has helped families of four Presidents, three Prime Ministers and a king. He came across cases involving renowned personalities. I was amazed to know that Joseph possess the ability to perform a psychological autopsy on those he investigated. This book/diary consists of details of his various cases.

One of my favorite story from this collection is American Hero. I am glad to read about American hero and Joe’s friend Mario Biaggi, the most decorated police officer in America. What Mario did for others even though he himself was upset at that time is appreciated. There are very few people like this.

Language of the book is lucid. Cover photo is nice and I appreciate author’s choice of title for this book. This book gave me a sneak peek into the life of a private detective. It’s a worth reading book and I am surely looking forward to read more of Joseph’s work.

All That Lingers by author Irene Wittig

Book: All That Lingers

Author: Irene Wittig

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 5/5

All That Lingers penned by the author Irene Wittig is a powerful story that moves from 1934 to 1961. Story started with three characters: Emma Huber, Greta Bruckner, and Léonie Salzmann who have been good friends since long time. As the story progresses, we get to meet many other important characters. In this story, we see Emma going through different situations involving love, loss, sadness, heartache, etc.

Emma who has lost many of her people stayed sad for a longer time. But she was kind enough to help Hannah and Sophie. Emma’s character caught all my attention in this story.

List of characters given at the beginning of the book helped me to get a better idea about the characters. Cover photo of the book looks nice. Plot of the story is amazing. Length of the novel is longer so this book is suitable for weekend binge reading. If you enjoy reading novels with vast characters, historical fiction then this one may fit your taste. Set in Vienna this story hooked me to it.

Book: The Little Handbook for Navigationally Challenged Cidiots

Available On: Amazon

Language: English

Rating: 4/5

“The Little Handbook for Navigationally Challenged Cidiots” is a hilarious read. Before reading this book, I wasn’t aware with the term Cidiot. This book opens reader’s eyes to the careless practices that many people engage in while driving.

I read about Eye Shadow Bandit – a woman who puts eye shadow while riding over the broken white lines. Clueless Do-less cidiots are the ones that drive against traffic on a one way street. Each chapter helps the readers to enrich their cidiot vocabulary. Get to know all about cidiots and their driving practices by grabbing this book right away.

The Quiz given at the end of the book is amazing to take and will help the readers to know whether they are cidiot or a potential cidiot victim. Written in 62 pages, this book could be finished in single sitting. I like to strongly recommend this book to cidiot drivers and those who are the observer of cidiot driving.
